جدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب هجومه على رئيس مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي جيروم باول، معتبراً أن تأخره في خفض أسعار الفائدة كلف الولايات المتحدة مئات المليارات من الدولارات.
وكتب ترمب في منشور عبر منصة تروث سوشيال اليوم (الخميس): «باول تأخر كثيراً، ويكلف بلادنا مئات المليارات من الدولارات، وأكثر الشخصيات تدميراً في الحكومة».
وأكد الرئيس الأمريكي أن «الفيدرالي» كان عليه أن يُخفض الفائدة بمقدار 2.5 نقطة مئوية، ما كان سيوفر مليارات الدولارات على ديون «بايدن» قصيرة الأجل.
ووصف ترمب الوضع الحالي بأنه «عار على أمريكا»، مؤكداً أن التضخم حالياً آخذ في التباطؤ، ولا يوجد مبرر لاستمرار «الفيدرالي» في نهجه المتحفظ.
يأتي ذلك بعدما ثبت «الفيدرالي» أسعار الفائدة للمرة الرابعة على التوالي في الاجتماع الذي انتهى أمس (الأربعاء)، وسط ضغوط متزايدة من قبل الرئيس الأمريكي لخفضها.

President Donald Trump renewed his attack on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, considering that his delay in lowering interest rates has cost the United States hundreds of billions of dollars.
Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social today (Thursday): "Powell has delayed too long, costing our country hundreds of billions of dollars, and is the most destructive figure in government."
The American president confirmed that the "Fed" should have lowered the interest rate by 2.5 percentage points, which would have saved billions of dollars on Biden's short-term debt.
Trump described the current situation as "a disgrace to America," emphasizing that inflation is currently slowing down, and there is no justification for the "Fed" to continue its cautious approach.
This comes after the "Fed" held interest rates steady for the fourth consecutive time in the meeting that concluded yesterday (Wednesday), amid increasing pressure from the American president to lower them.
