يبحث الاتحاد الأوروبي إمكانية فرض عقوبات على الصين ودول ثالثة لشرائها النفط والغاز من روسيا، حسبما ذكرت صحيفة «فاينانشال تايمز».
وطبقاً للصحيفة، فإن مسؤولي ودبلوماسيي الاتحاد الأوروبي بدأوا المشاورات في 7 سبتمبر الجاري بشأن إدراج مثل هذه القيود في حزمة العقوبات الجديدة. ووفقاً لما أفادت به ثلاثة مصادر للصحيفة، خلال المناقشات الأولية، أثيرت مسألة العقوبات الثانوية المحتملة ضد الصين مراراً.
وأوضحت «فاينانشال تايمز» أنه من المقرر أن يصل وفد من ممثلي الاتحاد الأوروبي إلى واشنطن لمناقشة العقوبات ضد روسيا مع مسؤولي وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية.
وبحسب الصحيفة، بدأت بروكسل مشاورات مع سفراء الاتحاد الأوروبي حول القيود الجديدة ضد موسكو، على أن يُقدَّم المقترح رسميًا خلال الأيام القادمة.

يذكر أن الاتحاد الأوروبي يدرس فرض عقوبات جديدة على روسيا، تشمل 6 بنوك روسية وشركات طاقة، بحسب وكالة «بلومبيرغ».
وذكرت صحيفة «بوليتيكو» الأوروبية، نقلًا عن دبلوماسيين أوروبيين اثنين، أن المفوضية الأوروبية قد تقدم مقترحًا رسميًا بشأن الحزمة الـ19 من العقوبات ضد روسيا في نهاية هذا الأسبوع.
وكانت روسيا قد أكدت مرارًا عدم قانونية العقوبات الأحادية الجانب المفروضة عليها، مشيرةً إلى أنها تلحق الضرر بالجهات التي تفرضها.
واتهم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الدول الأوروبية بمواصلة شراء النفط الروسي في ظل الحرب في أوكرانيا، وفقاً لعدة تقارير إعلامية صدرت أخيراً.
