هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أوروبا بإجراءات مضادة في أعقاب أحدث غرامة ضخمة فرضتها المفوضية الأوروبية على عملاق التكنولوجيا «غوغل».
وكتب ترمب على منصته الإلكترونية للتواصل الاجتماعي «تروث سوشيال»، إنه يشعر بأنه مضطر لبدء إجراءات لفرض رسوم جمركية جديدة إذا استمر فرض غرامات على الشركات الأمريكية.
وكتب ترمب: «إنها غير عادلة بالمرة، ولن يتحملها دافع الضرائب الأمريكي، كما قلت من قبل، إدارتي لن تسمح باستمرار هذه الإجراءات التمييزية».
ممارسات تجارية
وهدد ترمب بإجراء تحقيق بناء على القسم 301 من القانون التجاري الأمريكي، الذي ينص على فرض رسوم جمركية رداً على الممارسات التجارية غير العادلة.
وأضاف: «لا يمكننا السماح بحدوث هذا للإبداع الأمريكي الرائع وغير المسبوق، وإذا حدث ذلك، سأضطر لبدء إجراءات بموجب القسم 301 لإبطال العقوبات غير العادلة التي تُفرض على شركات دافعي الضرائب الأمريكيين».
قواعد المنافسة
وفرضت المفوضية الأوروبية، غرامة بقيمة 2.95 مليار يورو (3.5 مليار دولار) على شركة غوغل لانتهاكها قواعد المنافسة في التكتل من خلال تفضيل خدماتها الإعلانية الرقمية الخاصة بها، وهي العقوبة الرابعة للشركة في قضايا مكافحة الاحتكار، إضافة إلى تراجع عن تهديدات سابقة بتفكيك شركة التكنولوجيا العملاقة.

President Donald Trump threatened Europe with countermeasures following the latest massive fine imposed by the European Commission on the tech giant "Google".
Trump wrote on his social media platform "Truth Social" that he feels compelled to initiate procedures to impose new tariffs if fines on American companies continue.
Trump wrote: "This is completely unfair, and the American taxpayer will not bear it. As I said before, my administration will not allow these discriminatory practices to continue."

Trump threatened to conduct an investigation under Section 301 of the U.S. Trade Act, which provides for tariffs in response to unfair trade practices.
He added: "We cannot allow this to happen to American innovation that is wonderful and unprecedented, and if it does happen, I will have to initiate procedures under Section 301 to nullify the unfair penalties imposed on American taxpayer companies."
