أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مجدداً أن أرقام الوظائف الأمريكية الأخيرة تعرضت للتلاعب.
وانزعج الرئيس ترمب من أن الاقتصاد لم يضف سوى 73 ألف وظيفة فقط خلال شهر يوليو الماضي، رغم موجات تسريح الموظفين التي تمت خلال الأشهر السبعة الأولى من إدارته الثانية. وكتب في منشور: «نحتاج لأرقام وظائف دقيقة، وجهت فريقي بإقالة رئيسة مكتب إحصاءات العمل إريكا ماكنترفر على الفور، واستبدالها بشخص أكثر كفاءة وتأهيلاً».
وكان نمو الوظائف في الولايات المتحدة قد تباطأ أكثر من المتوقع في يوليو الماضي، بينما جرى تعديل بيانات الشهر السابق بالخفض؛ ما يشير إلى تباطؤ كبير في سوق العمل.
وقال مكتب إحصاءات العمل التابع لوزارة العمل الأمريكية في تقرير التوظيف الذي يحظى بمتابعة وثيقة: «إن الوظائف غير الزراعية زادت بمقدار 73 ألف وظيفة الشهر الماضي بعد أن ارتفعت بمقدار 14 ألف وظيفة في يونيو الماضي بعد تعديلها بالخفض».
وكشفت المراجعات التي أُجريت على أرقام الأشهر السابقة إضافة وظائف أقل بكثير مما كان متوقعاً في البداية.
وفي يونيو الماضي، أضاف الاقتصاد الأمريكي 14 ألف وظيفة فقط، وقد جرى تعديل هذه الأرقام بشكل ملحوظ نزولاً، مقارنة بالقراءة الأولية البالغة 147 ألفاً.
يذكر أن مكتب الإحصاءات هو جزء من وزارة العمل، لكنه يعمل بشكل مستقل ويقدم بيانات مفصلة حول التوظيف والأسعار والأجور وغيرها.
