كشف تجمع «محامو الطوارئ» في السودان اليوم (الخميس) مقتل 23 شخصاً على الأقل في هجمات بطائرات مسيّرة استهدفت مدينة الأبيض، عاصمة ولاية شمال كردفان.
وقالت مجموعة «محامو الطوارئ» المعنية بتوثيق انتهاكات الحرب، في بيان صحفي اليوم: «استهدفت طائرات مسيّرة تابعة لقوات الدعم السريع مدينة الأبيض بولاية شمال كردفان مساء الأربعاء، واستمرت الهجمات حتى صباح اليوم، في سلسلة غارات أسفرت، وفق حصيلة أولية، عن مقتل 23 شخصاً وإصابة 19 آخرين، مع ترجيح ارتفاع عدد الضحايا مع استمرار تحليق الطائرات المسيّرة».
وأوضح البيان أن الهجمات تسببت في البداية بمقتل خمسة مدنيين وإصابة 12 آخرين، وأثناء تجمع المواطنين لتشييع الضحايا في المقبرة استُهدف المشيعون، ما أدى إلى مقتل أربعة مدنيين وإصابة سبعة آخرين.
وأكد البيان تعرض منازل في أحياء الموظفين والمطار والمناطق المحيطة بقيادة الفرقة الخامسة مشاة للقصف، ما أسفر عن مقتل 13 مدنياً أثناء تجمعهم بالقرب من المنازل المدمرة.
وفي هجوم منفصل فجر اليوم، استُهدفت شاحنة محملة بمواد غذائية عند المدخل الجنوبي للمدينة، ما أدى إلى مقتل سائقها.
وبحسب البيان، فإن «هذه الهجمات المتتالية تشير إلى نمط استهداف واسع النطاق طال تجمعات مدنية وأحياء سكنية وأعياناً مدنية، بما في ذلك أثناء عمليات الإنقاذ وتشييع الضحايا، ما يثير مخاوف جدية بشأن غياب التمييز وعدم مراعاة مبادئ الضرورة العسكرية والتناسب».
وحمّلت المجموعة في بيانها قوات الدعم السريع المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الهجمات، معربة عن إدانتها الشديدة لها.
وأشارت إلى أن استهداف المدنيين والأعيان المدنية يرقى إلى انتهاكات جسيمة للقانون الدولي الإنساني، داعية إلى وقف فوري للهجمات الجوية العشوائية، وفتح تحقيقات مستقلة وشفافة، وضمان حماية المدنيين ومساءلة المسؤولين عنها.
The "Emergency Lawyers" group in Sudan announced today (Thursday) that at least 23 people were killed in drone attacks targeting the city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state.
The "Emergency Lawyers" group, which is concerned with documenting war violations, stated in a press release today: "Drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces targeted the city of El Obeid in North Kordofan state on Wednesday evening, and the attacks continued until this morning, in a series of airstrikes that resulted, according to initial reports, in the deaths of 23 people and injuries to 19 others, with the likelihood of the death toll rising as the drones continue to fly."
The statement clarified that the attacks initially resulted in the deaths of five civilians and injuries to 12 others, and while citizens gathered to bury the victims at the cemetery, the mourners were targeted, leading to the deaths of four civilians and injuries to seven others.
The statement confirmed that homes in the neighborhoods of employees, the airport, and areas surrounding the Fifth Infantry Division headquarters were bombed, resulting in the deaths of 13 civilians while they were gathered near the destroyed houses.
In a separate attack early this morning, a truck loaded with food supplies was targeted at the southern entrance of the city, resulting in the death of its driver.
According to the statement, "These successive attacks indicate a pattern of widespread targeting of civilian gatherings, residential neighborhoods, and civilian objects, including during rescue operations and the burial of victims, raising serious concerns about the absence of distinction and the disregard for the principles of military necessity and proportionality."
The group held the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for these attacks, expressing its strong condemnation of them.
It pointed out that targeting civilians and civilian objects constitutes serious violations of international humanitarian law, calling for an immediate cessation of indiscriminate airstrikes, the opening of independent and transparent investigations, and ensuring the protection of civilians and accountability for those responsible.
