التقت الأميرة سارة بنت بندر بن عبدالعزيز المدير التنفيذي للمجلس الدولي للتمور، أمس، وزيرة الزراعة في روسيا الاتحادية أوكسانا لوت، وذلك على هامش منتدى سانت بطرسبرغ الاقتصادي الدولي 2026.
وجرى خلال اللقاء التباحث حول ملف انضمام روسيا الاتحادية إلى عضوية المجلس الدولي للتمور، إضافة إلى بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون والشراكة الدولية لدعم نمو قطاع التمور وتطوير سلاسل القيمة المرتبطة به على المستوى العالمي.
وأطلعت الجانب الروسي على التوجهات الإستراتيجية للمجلس وأولوياته المستقبلية، والمبادرات والمشاريع التي يعمل على تنفيذها بالتعاون مع الدول الأعضاء والشركاء الدوليين، والهادفة إلى رفع القيمة الاقتصادية للقطاع وتعزيز حضوره في الأسواق العالمية.
كما سلّط اللقاء الضوء على دور «المرصد الدولي للتمور»، بوصفه منصة رقمية واعدة يعمل المجلس على تأسيسها لتكون مرجعاً متخصصاً لرصد وتحليل البيانات والمؤشرات التجارية والاقتصادية للتمور عالمياً، ودوره المرتقب في دعم صناعة القرار لدى الحكومات والمستثمرين؛ إذ حظي المرصد باهتمام الجانب الروسي لما سيوفره مستقبلاً من أدوات ومعلومات تُسهم في تطوير التبادل التجاري واستكشاف الفرص الاستثمارية.
وأكد الجانبان في ختام اللقاء أهمية مواصلة التنسيق وتبادل الخبرات والمعرفة بما يُسهم في تحقيق الأهداف المشتركة وتعزيز التنمية الاقتصادية لقطاع النخيل والتمور دولياً.
Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz met yesterday with the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the file for the Russian Federation's accession to the International Date Palm Council, in addition to exploring ways to enhance international cooperation and partnership to support the growth of the date palm sector and develop the related value chains at the global level.
She briefed the Russian side on the strategic directions of the council and its future priorities, as well as the initiatives and projects it is working on implementing in collaboration with member countries and international partners, aimed at increasing the economic value of the sector and enhancing its presence in global markets.
The meeting also highlighted the role of the "International Date Palm Observatory," as a promising digital platform that the council is working to establish to serve as a specialized reference for monitoring and analyzing data and trade and economic indicators for dates globally, and its anticipated role in supporting decision-making for governments and investors; the observatory has garnered interest from the Russian side for the tools and information it will provide in the future to contribute to developing trade exchange and exploring investment opportunities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging experiences and knowledge to contribute to achieving common goals and enhancing the economic development of the date palm and dates sector internationally.
