أثارت الإعلامية المصرية هالة سرحان جدلاً واسعاً على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في لبنان والعالم العربي، بعد انتشار مقطع فيديو قصير يظهرها في حوار عفوي مع مراسلة قناة «الجديد» اللبنانية، بعدما سألتها المراسلة عن اسمها وبلدها، في لحظة وصفها البعض بـ«المحرجة».
حدثت الواقعة خلال تغطية إعلامية في بيروت، لأعمال الملتقى الإعلامي العربي، إذ حاولت المراسلة الشابة إجراء مقابلة قصيرة مع هالة سرحان، التي كانت موجودة كضيفة، لكن المراسلة لم تكن تعرف اسم هالة سرحان أو من أي بلد.
في المقطع المنتشر الذي دام أقل من دقيقتين، تبدأ المراسلة بالترحيب بسرحان، لكنها تتردد في طرح الأسئلة، ثم تسأل فجأة: «نتعرف بيكي، ومن أي بلد؟»، ما يوحي بعدم معرفتها بهوية الإعلامية المصرية أو خلفيتها المهنية، قبل أن ترد عليها سرحان: «لا بجد انتي مش عرفاني.. مش هرد عليكي طالما مش عارفة أنا مين».
إحراج مهني
انتشر الفيديو بسرعة على «إنستغرام» و«تيك توك»، ووصفه بعض اللبنانيين بـ«الإحراج المهني» لمراسلتهم، معتبرين أن السؤال الذي وجهته المراسلة للإعلامية المصرية الشهيرة يعكس نقص تحضير، بينما اتهم آخرون سرحان بـ«التحامل» و«العجرفة» لردها الساخر.
سرعان ما حذفت القناة الفيديو من حسابها الرسمي، لكن الضجة استمرت، مع آلاف التعليقات التي قسمت الرأي العام بين الداعمين والمنتقدين.
وفي أول تعليق لها، أكدت هالة سرحان أن «البنت كانت متوترة واضح إنها لسه مش خبرة»، مضيفة: «حصل الموقف ده عشان تتعلم.. محبتش أحرجها، وقلت لها انتي زنانة وطبطت عليها».
وتعتبر الإعلامية هالة سرحان من أشهر الإعلاميات في الوطن العربي وبدأت مسيرتها الصحفية في الثمانينات رئيسة تحرير لمجلة «سيدتي»، ثم انتقلت إلى الإعلام التلفزيوني مع برامج مثل «يا هلا مع هالة سرحان» على شبكة «راديو وتلفزيون العرب»، و«هالة شو» على «روتانا».
واشتهرت بأسلوبها الجريء، لكنها واجهت جدلاً كبيراً في 2007 بعد حلقة «فتيات الليل» في «هالة شو»، وفي عام 2012 قدمت برنامج «ناس بوك» على «روتانا مصرية»، ثم تولت رئاسة قنوات مثل «الحياة» و«روتانا» وأسست قنوات فرعية مثل «روتانا سينما» و«روتانا زمان».
The Egyptian media personality Hala Sarhan sparked widespread controversy on social media in Lebanon and the Arab world after a short video clip emerged showing her in a spontaneous conversation with a reporter from the Lebanese channel "Al-Jadeed," who asked her about her name and country in a moment some described as "embarrassing."
The incident occurred during media coverage in Beirut for the Arab Media Forum, where the young reporter attempted to conduct a brief interview with Hala Sarhan, who was present as a guest, but the reporter did not know Hala Sarhan's name or where she was from.
In the circulated clip, which lasted less than two minutes, the reporter begins by welcoming Sarhan but hesitates to ask questions, then suddenly asks: "Can we get to know you, and where are you from?" which suggests her unfamiliarity with the identity of the Egyptian media personality or her professional background, before Sarhan responds: "No, seriously, you don't know me... I won't answer you as long as you don't know who I am."
Professional Embarrassment
The video quickly spread on Instagram and TikTok, with some Lebanese describing it as "professional embarrassment" for their reporter, considering that the question directed by the reporter to the famous Egyptian media personality reflects a lack of preparation, while others accused Sarhan of "bias" and "arrogance" for her sarcastic response.
The channel soon deleted the video from its official account, but the uproar continued, with thousands of comments dividing public opinion between supporters and critics.
In her first comment, Hala Sarhan confirmed that "the girl was clearly nervous and not experienced yet," adding: "This situation happened for her to learn... I didn't want to embarrass her, and I told her you are persistent and reassured her."
Hala Sarhan is considered one of the most famous media personalities in the Arab world, starting her journalistic career in the 1980s as the editor-in-chief of "Sayidaty" magazine, then moving to television media with programs like "Ya Hala with Hala Sarhan" on the "Arab Radio and Television Network," and "Hala Show" on "Rotana."
She is known for her bold style but faced significant controversy in 2007 after the "Night Girls" episode on "Hala Show." In 2012, she presented the program "Nas Book" on "Rotana Masriya," then took over the presidency of channels like "Al-Hayat" and "Rotana," and established subsidiary channels like "Rotana Cinema" and "Rotana Zaman."
