The Egyptian artist Qais Abdel Fattah has brought his name back into the spotlight after announcing his marriage for the sixth time at the age of eighty-one to a Tunisian woman who is over two decades younger than him, a step that sparked widespread reactions and shed light on his artistic career and personal stories that remain present in the audience's memory.
Abdel Fattah revealed that his new wife is of Tunisian nationality and is 59 years old, explaining that this marriage is the sixth in his life. He indicated his readiness to celebrate his upcoming birthday with her, just days after officially announcing their engagement. The artist documented part of the occasion through a video clip he posted on his (TikTok) account, where he appeared during the celebration of the marriage contract, amidst notable interaction from his followers who widely shared the news.
Qais Abdel Fattah is considered one of the faces that have transitioned between cinema and television over the decades, having begun his artistic journey after studying at the acting institute. His name is associated with dozens of works, with over 50 artistic contributions between the big and small screens. Throughout his career, he participated in prominent films including (My Father is Above the Tree), (Watch Out for Zuzu), (The Back Stairs), and (At the Minister's Door), and he also made appearances in well-known television works such as (The Days), (The Digger), (Egyptian Papers), and (A Matter of Dignity).
In 2022, the Cairo Drama Festival honored the Egyptian artist in recognition of his long career and contributions to cinema and drama, in a gesture considered a crowning achievement for a career that has spanned decades.
However, the story most closely associated with Abdel Fattah's name remains his love affair with the late actress Zubaida Tharwat, whom he said shared mutual feelings with him, and the idea of marriage between them came close to realization more than once, before personal circumstances at the time prevented the union from being completed.
According to his account, Zubaida Tharwat remained one of the most influential figures in his life, affirming that their relationship remained firmly etched in his memory even after her passing, which led the audience to revisit their story again in conjunction with the announcement of his new marriage.
The artist also reminisced about memories shared with several stars of the golden age, including the actress Hind Rostom, who predicted a promising artistic future for him in his early days and suggested that he change his stage name, but he preferred to keep the name his mother gave him, which has accompanied him throughout his career.
With this new marriage, Qais Abdel Fattah not only returns to the forefront as a groom at eighty-one but also as one of the artists whose lives intertwine artistic milestones with love stories and memories that continue to capture the audience's interest after all these years.
