The Governorate of Ahad Rufaida in the Asir region looks forward to enhancing the level of municipal services and improving the urban landscape in residential neighborhoods and villages by creating public parks and walkways, repaving damaged roads, and addressing irregular speed bumps. On the traffic side, road users heading to the Al-Murabba tourist park face a danger posed by electric poles adjacent to the street, which threatens the safety of vehicle drivers and their companions, necessitating urgent action to mitigate potential risks.
The residents hope that the municipality will take the initiative to assess field needs and observations, and develop a work plan that includes implementation priorities and clear timelines, contributing to the enhancement of municipal services and meeting the aspirations of the residents, while attention turns to the electricity company to address the situation of the poles located along the road and enhance traffic safety.
Creating Parks and Repaving Roads
Abdullah Mashhoor stated that the governorate needs to create public parks and walkways in multiple locations, especially in the south, to provide recreational spaces for families and youth, encourage walking, and improve the quality of life, particularly in neighborhoods that lack green spaces and recreational facilities.
Abdullah Al-Qahtani called for repaving the roads that have damaged asphalt layers, addressing potholes and cracks, and raising the level of traffic safety, in addition to reviewing the speed bumps scattered within residential neighborhoods and ensuring they meet the approved specifications and requirements, to protect road users and limit the damage that may occur to vehicles.
Two Dirt Roads Next to a School
Mohammed Al-Qahtani mentioned that there are ongoing demands to pave the two dirt roads adjacent to Abdullah bin Mubarak Primary School in the village of Bani Tamim, due to their importance for students, parents, and school staff. He explained that the dust raised by daily vehicle movement causes inconvenience to road users, especially during rainfall.
Poor Communications and Electric Poles
For his part, Abdullah Al-Bushri pointed out the suffering of visitors to the sheep market from weak communication network coverage, in addition to the lack of an ATM. He explained that the weak network limits the benefit from electronic services and payment and transfer operations, while the absence of an ATM complicates financial transactions, especially during peak times that witness noticeable commercial activity.
Regarding traffic safety, Mohammed Al-Hayani called on the electricity company to conduct a field assessment of the wooden poles located along the road leading to the Al-Murabba tourist park, which experiences heavy vehicle traffic, necessitating the rerouting of overhead wires and converting them to safe underground installations to reduce risks that may threaten road users.
