استضاف بيت الثقافة في جازان الشاعر والمترجم ورئيس جمعية أدبي جازان حسن أحمد الصلهبي، في مساء عبق بشذى أوراق التأليف، ولم يخل من نفحات الشاعر والشعر في حضور لافت جمع جمهورًا عريضًا من الشعراء والأدباء والمثقفين.
وعلى مدى أكثر من ساعة حاور فيها الأديب محمد الرياني الشاعر والمترجم الصلهبي عن رحلة الكلمة والترجمة والشعر تزامنًا مع اليوم العالمي للكتاب ٢٠٢٦م. وافتتح الشاعر الصلهبي حديثه بأنه كان شغوفًا بالقراءة منذ أن كان تلميذًا صغيرًا يتعلم الأبجدية وسط المكتبات المدرسية، ثم طالبًا جامعيًّا بجامعة الملك سعود بقسم اللغة الانجليزية، حيث فُتح له المجال نحو الأدب العالمي علاوة على الأدب المحلي والعربي.
وقال الصلهبي الذي نشر أول دواوينه الموسوم بـ"عزف على أوتار مهترئة" العام ٢٠٠٢م ليكون هذا العزف باكورة لعزف على أوتار أنيقة نحو العالمية.
وقرأ الصلهبي واحدًا من نصوص الديوان الأول وسط تفاعل كبير من الجمهور العريض الذي تفاعل كثيرًا.
وقدم الصلهبي نصًّا اختاره المحاور من الديوان الشعري الثاني للصلهبي بعنوان: خائنة الشبه وهو العنوان ذاته للديوان الثاني للشاعر الذي صدر العام 2004 م.
وعما إذا ما كان الكتاب ما زال.. أكد الصلهبي أن الكتاب مازال يحتل مكانة كبيرة وأنه سيبقى خير جليس على الرغم من الثورة الرقمية في عصرنا الحاضر، مؤكدًا أن هذه التحولات لابد منها ومتغيرات مستجدة ولا يمنع من الأخذ بأسباب هذه التقنية كونها جزءًا من حياتنا.
وشدد الصلهبي على دور المؤسسات الثقافية في تكريس ثقافة القراءة وأن على المدارس دورًا مهمًا في هذا الجانب وتكريس ثقافة القراءة لدى الناشئة منذ نعومة أظفارهم؛ لأن القراءة هي انعكاس حضاري للشعوب، إضافة إلى أن التوسع في خارطة القراءة سيمنحنا العديد من الميزات من أجل أن يكون للكتاب مكانته التي نريدها.
وانتقل الصلهبي إلى مرحلة مهمة له مع الكتاب حيث تحدث عن تجربة نوعية من خلال كتابه: بين يدي امرئ القيس، حيث حاكى في معلقة رائعة معلقة امرئ القيس وقرأ عدة مقاطع من هذا الإصدار الذي أصدره العام 2010 م عبر نادي القصيم الأدبي، واستمتع وتفاعل الجمهور كثيرًا مع مقاطع هذه المعلقة.
وعن مهرجان القصيدة الوطنية بأدبي جازان قال الصلهبي: إنه مشروع وطني يجمع شعراء من المملكة على مدى ٨ مواسم شعرية مضت، موضحًا أن المهرجان الشعري الـ 9 القادم سيكون متزامنًا مع اليوم الوطني للمملكة.
وختم الصلهبي فعالية اليوم العالمي للكتاب بقصيدة وطنية بعنوان «سعودي» وسط تفاعل كبير وسط بيت الثقافة في مساء تاريخي تم الاحتفاء بالكتاب والمؤلف في اليوم العالمي.
وشهد الحوار الثري الذي أداره الكاتب والقاص محمد الرياني عددًا من المداخلات حول تجربة الشاعر، منوهين بما حققته جازان من إنجاز ثقافي واهتمام بالكتاب مؤخرًا كونها الأكثر قراءة في العام 2025م.
The House of Culture in Jazan hosted the poet, translator, and head of the Jazan Literary Association, Hassan Ahmed Al-Sulhabi, on an evening fragrant with the scent of literary creation, filled with the essence of poetry and poets, attracting a large audience of poets, writers, and intellectuals.
For over an hour, the writer Mohammed Al-Riyani engaged in a dialogue with the poet and translator Al-Sulhabi about the journey of words, translation, and poetry, coinciding with World Book Day 2026. Al-Sulhabi opened his talk by expressing his passion for reading since he was a young student learning the alphabet among school libraries, and later as a university student at King Saud University in the English Language Department, where he was introduced to global literature in addition to local and Arabic literature.
Al-Sulhabi, who published his first collection titled "Playing on Frayed Strings" in 2002, stated that this performance was the beginning of a journey towards elegant strings aimed at global recognition.
He read one of the texts from his first collection amidst significant interaction from the large audience, who responded enthusiastically.
Al-Sulhabi presented a text chosen by the interviewer from his second poetry collection titled: "The Betrayer of Resemblance," which is also the title of the poet's second collection published in 2004.
Regarding whether books still hold significance, Al-Sulhabi affirmed that books continue to occupy a prominent place and will remain the best companion despite the digital revolution in our present age, emphasizing that these transformations are necessary and new changes that should not prevent us from embracing this technology as it is part of our lives.
Al-Sulhabi stressed the role of cultural institutions in promoting a reading culture and highlighted the important role schools play in this regard, instilling a culture of reading among the youth from an early age; because reading is a cultural reflection of nations. Additionally, expanding the reading landscape will grant us many advantages to ensure that books hold the status we desire.
He moved on to an important phase in his relationship with books, discussing a unique experience through his book: "In the Hands of Imru' al-Qais," where he emulated the magnificent Mu'allaqa of Imru' al-Qais and read several passages from this publication released in 2010 through the Qassim Literary Club. The audience enjoyed and interacted greatly with the excerpts from this Mu'allaqa.
Regarding the National Poetry Festival at the Jazan Literary Association, Al-Sulhabi stated that it is a national project that brings together poets from the Kingdom over the course of 8 previous poetry seasons, clarifying that the upcoming 9th poetry festival will coincide with the Kingdom's National Day.
Al-Sulhabi concluded the World Book Day event with a patriotic poem titled "Saudi," amidst significant interaction within the House of Culture on a historic evening celebrating books and authors on World Book Day.
The rich dialogue, moderated by writer and storyteller Mohammed Al-Riyani, witnessed several interventions regarding the poet's experience, noting the cultural achievements of Jazan and its recent interest in books, as it was the most read region in 2025.
