The Cultural House Theater in Jazan witnessed a cultural night characterized by intellectual depth and an elite presence; where the Culture and Arts Club in Sabya, in partnership with the literary partner "Wasam," and the Cultural House in Jazan, hosted the journalist Dr. Hamoud Abu Talib in a dialogue session titled "The Word and Opinion... Spread or Influence?!"
The meeting was opened by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hajri with a welcoming speech in which he reviewed the club's vision and strategic goals in enriching the cultural scene in the Jazan region, emphasizing the importance of community partnerships in creating a qualitative literary movement. Al-Hajri also provided a comprehensive introduction about the guest of the meeting.
The evening, moderated by the presenter Dua Abu Talib, witnessed a remarkable attendance from poets, writers, and a group of male and female media professionals and intellectuals interested in public affairs from various segments of society.
During the session, Dr. Hamoud Abu Talib addressed several key themes, most notably the cost of daily writing, pointing to the challenges faced by opinion writers, especially regarding exposure to "misunderstanding" or "misinterpretation," and how he has been able, through his long experience, to deal with these discrepancies with flexibility and objectivity.
Abu Talib revealed the pivotal moments that transformed his articles from mere "transient journalistic expressions" to a "real force of influence" that touches on societal issues and resonates in decision-making centers.
The meeting was not devoid of the literary aspect, as he shed light on his experience in writing stories and novels, and how fictional imagination intersects with the realism of journalistic articles, offering a set of essential advice for young male and female media professionals, emphasizing that sustainability in influence requires sincerity of word, continuous learning, and a sense of national and professional responsibility away from the chase for the allure of false spread.
At the end of the evening, the management of the Culture and Arts Club in Sabya concluded this meeting by honoring the guest and the moderator, in appreciation of their enriching contributions. The honor also included partners in success and a number of distinguished male and female media professionals in covering cultural events in the region.
