The Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker surrendered to the Lebanese Army Intelligence at the entrance of the Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon, after more than 13 years of judicial pursuit. Lebanese media reported that the operation was carried out in coordination with security agencies, and that Shaker appeared cooperative during his surrender, paving the way for a review of his legal file that has sparked controversy for years.

The Lebanese military court had issued a in absentia sentence against him of 22 years in prison with hard labor, on charges related to involvement in terrorist activities and financing armed groups. Shaker denied those accusations in previous statements, asserting that he had not carried a weapon against the Lebanese Army. For his part, his son Mohammed wrote on Instagram: "Indeed, with hardship comes ease," referring to the beginning of the path to justice. Judicial sources expected that interrogation sessions would begin in the coming days amid extensive Lebanese media coverage.
