في خبر يُعد خسارة كبيرة لعالم السينما، توفي روبرت ريدفورد، أيقونة هوليوود الأمريكية التي سادت الشاشة لأكثر من ستة عقود، صباح اليوم (الثلاثاء)، في منزله بمنطقة صندانس الجبلية في ولاية يوتاه، عن عمر يناهز 89 عامًا.
وأعلنت وفاة أيقونة هوليوود المتحدثة باسم العائلة، سيندي بيرغر، رئيسة تنفيذية شركة روجرز آند كوان بي إم كيه للعلاقات العامة، في بيان رسمي، قائلة: «رحل روبرت ريدفورد في 16 سبتمبر 2025، في منزله بصندانس في جبال يوتاه – المكان الذي أحبه، محاطًا بمن يحبهم، سيُفتقد كثيرًا»، وأكدت الصحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» أن الوفاة حدثت أثناء نومه، دون الكشف عن تفاصيل إضافية حول السبب.

The death of the Hollywood icon was announced by the family spokesperson, Cindy Berger, CEO of Rogers & Cowan PMK Public Relations, in an official statement, saying: “Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home in Sundance in the Utah mountains – the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved, he will be greatly missed.” The New York Times confirmed that the death occurred while he was sleeping, without disclosing additional details about the cause.

Redford, who was born Charles Robert Redford Jr. on August 18, 1936, in Santa Monica, California, was a symbol of Hollywood allure with his golden features and wavy hair, portraying iconic roles in films such as "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969) alongside Paul Newman, "The Sting" (1973), and "All the President's Men" (1976), which told the story of the Watergate investigation.
