رد الفنان عبد الرحمن أبو زهرة، على مطالبات تكريمه من قِبل الجمهور، مؤكدًا أنه وصل لمرحلة من القناعة بأن أمور الدنيا زائلة، ومحبة الجمهور وتقديرهم لمشواره الفني بالنسبة له هو أهم من جميع الجوائز.
وكتبت الصفحة الخاصة بعبد الرحمن أبو زهرة عبر «فيسبوك»: «مؤخرًا نادى كثيرون بضرورة تكريمي، ووصلتني الكثير من الرسائل، ولكنني أحب أن أنوه أنني وصلت لمرحلة من العمر والقناعة، بأن كل أمور الدنيا زائلة».
وتابع: «حب الناس بالنسبة لي واهتمامهم بمعرفة أخباري دائمًا هو أكبر وأهم تكريم لشخصي ولتاريخي الفني الطويل، بل وأهم من كل الجوائز والتكريمات أشكركم من كل قلبي».
وتصدر عبد الرحمن أبو زهرة، سابقاً، مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي المختلفة بعدما شن نجله، هجوماً واسعاً على هيئة المعاشات في مصر بعد إيقافهم معاش والده، ظناً منهم بأن الفنان القدير توفي، مؤكداً أن ما حدث مع والده لا يليق بقيمته الفنية ومشواره.
يذكر أنه في عام 2023، أعلن نجل عبدالرحمن أبو زهرة اعتزال والده الفن نهائياً، عقب معاناته من أزمات صحية، ودخوله في حالة اكتئاب، بعد وفاة زوجته، مشيراً إلى أن هذا القرار ليس فيه رجعة.

Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra's official page on Facebook wrote: "Recently, many have called for my recognition, and I have received many messages, but I would like to point out that I have reached a stage in my life and conviction that all worldly matters are fleeting."
He continued: "The love of the people for me and their interest in knowing my news is always the greatest and most important recognition for me and my long artistic history, even more important than all awards and honors. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra previously dominated various social media platforms after his son launched a broad attack on the pensions authority in Egypt following their suspension of his father's pension, believing that the esteemed artist had passed away, affirming that what happened to his father does not befit his artistic value and career.
It is worth mentioning that in 2023, Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra's son announced his father's complete retirement from art, following his struggles with health crises and entering a state of depression after the death of his wife, indicating that this decision is final.
