أكد وزير الداخلية الأسترالي توني بيرك، إلغاء تأشيرة دخول المغني الأمريكي كاني ويست لأستراليا، بعدما أصدر أغنية «هاي هتلر» كونها تروج للنازية على حد وصفه.
وقال بيرك لهيئة البث الأسترالية «يزور ويست أستراليا منذ فترة طويلة فهو لديه أسرة هنا ولقد أدلى بالكثير من التعليقات المسيئة التي أعاد مسؤولو مكتبي النظر فيها بعد صدور الأغنية المذكورة ماجعل تأشيرة دخوله إلى أستراليا غير صالحة».
وأضاف لم تؤثر التعليقات المزعجة السابقة الصادرة عن ويست على وضع تأشيرته، فإن المسؤولين «بحثوا في الأمر مرة أخرى» بعد إصدار الأغنية.
Australian Interior Minister Tony Burke confirmed the cancellation of American singer Kanye West's visa to Australia after he released the song "Hey Hitler," which he described as promoting Nazism.
Burke told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, "West has been visiting Australia for a long time; he has family here, and he has made many offensive comments that my office officials reconsidered after the release of the mentioned song, which rendered his visa to enter Australia invalid."
He added that while West's previous disturbing comments did not affect his visa status, officials "re-examined the matter" after the song's release.
