توفي اليوم الكاتب الصحفي محمد عبدالمنعم، والد الفنان المصري تامر عبدالمنعم، بعد معاناة مع المرض، لتفقد الساحة الإعلامية المصرية أحد رموزها البارزين.
شغل الراحل محمد عبدالمنعم مواقع قيادية في الصحافة المصرية، كان أبرزها رئاسة مجلس إدارة مؤسسة «روز اليوسف»، واشتهر بتميّزه في تغطية الشؤون العسكرية، إذ عُرف بدقته المهنية وعمقه في التحليل، ما جعله من الأسماء اللامعة في هذا المجال الصحفي.
سبق أن تدهورت الحالة الصحية للكاتب محمد عبدالمنعم مطلع يناير 2025، وتم نقله إلى غرفة العناية المركزة في أحد مستشفيات حي الزمالك بالقاهرة؛ بسبب معاناته من التهاب رئوي حاد وضعف بعضلة القلب، إلى جانب خلل في وظائف الكلى، وفقًا للتقارير الطبية حينها.
وخلال فترة علاجه، انتشرت أنباء غير دقيقة عن وفاته، مما دفع الفنان تامر عبدالمنعم إلى نفي تلك الأخبار من خلال منشور على حساباته الرسمية بمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، أرفقه بصورة لوالده من داخل المستشفى، قائلاً: «لا صحة للشائعة السخيفة، ووالدي الكاتب الصحفي الكبير محمد عبدالمنعم يتلقى علاجه بالمستشفى الآن، وأرجو تحري الدقة قبل نشر أخبار كاذبة».
كان الفريق الطبي قد أوصى بنقل الكاتب الراحل من العناية المركزة إلى غرفة عادية بعد تحسن جزئي في وضعه الصحي، إلا أن المعاناة مع المرض استمرت، إلى أن أُعلنت، صباح اليوم، وفاته.
Today, the journalist Mohamed Abdel-Moneim passed away, the father of Egyptian artist Tamer Abdel-Moneim, after suffering from illness, marking a loss for the Egyptian media landscape of one of its prominent figures.
The late Mohamed Abdel-Moneim held leadership positions in Egyptian journalism, most notably as the Chairman of the Board of the "Rose Al-Youssef" Foundation. He was renowned for his excellence in covering military affairs, known for his professional accuracy and depth of analysis, which made him one of the shining names in this journalistic field.
Previously, the health condition of writer Mohamed Abdel-Moneim deteriorated in early January 2025, and he was transferred to the intensive care unit of a hospital in the Zamalek district of Cairo due to suffering from severe pneumonia and heart muscle weakness, in addition to kidney function impairment, according to medical reports at that time.
During his treatment, inaccurate news about his death spread, prompting artist Tamer Abdel-Moneim to deny those reports through a post on his official social media accounts, accompanied by a photo of his father from inside the hospital, stating: "There is no truth to the ridiculous rumor, and my father, the great journalist Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. I hope for accuracy before spreading false news."
The medical team had recommended transferring the late writer from intensive care to a regular room after a partial improvement in his health condition; however, the struggle with illness continued until his death was announced this morning.
