لقي ثمانية أشخاص على الأقل مصرعهم في حادثة غرق عبارة اليوم، كانت تقل 342 راكبًا في جنوب الفلبين.
وأوضحت رئيسة إحدى البلديات بمقاطعة «باسيلان» أرسينا كاهينغ نانوه في منشور، أن العدد المؤكد للقتلى بلغ ثمانية جراء غرق العبارة «تريشا كيرستين 3» خلال إبحارها باتجاه جزيرة سولو.
فيما أشارت مسؤولة الاستجابة للطوارئ في المقاطعة رونالين بيريز، إلى أنه تم إنقاذ 138 شخصًا على الأقل، مضيفة أنه تم نقل 18 شخصًا إلى أحد المستشفيات المحلية.
وتابعت «كانت العبارة تبحر من مدينة زامبوانغا إلى جزيرة جولو عندما وقعت الحادثة».
وأعلن خفر السواحل الفلبيني، أنه ينسق لإمداد مركزه في جنوب مينداناو بالمساعدة في عمليات البحث والإنقاذ.
At least eight people have died in a ferry sinking incident today, which was carrying 342 passengers in southern Philippines.
The mayor of a municipality in the province of "Basilan," Arsina Kahing Nanoh, stated in a post that the confirmed death toll has reached eight due to the sinking of the ferry "Trisha Kirstin 3" while it was sailing towards Sulu Island.
Meanwhile, the emergency response official in the province, Ronaline Perez, indicated that at least 138 people have been rescued, adding that 18 individuals have been transferred to a local hospital.
She continued, "The ferry was sailing from Zamboanga City to Jolo Island when the incident occurred."
The Philippine Coast Guard announced that it is coordinating to supply its center in southern Mindanao with assistance for search and rescue operations.
