فيما طالبت نازك الحريري أرملة رئيس وزراء لبنان الراحل رفيق الحريري، رسمياً بوقف عرض مسلسل «رفيق» على قناة MTV اللبنانية، أعلنت «MTV» تمسكها بقرار عرض المسلسل.
وأضافت القناة في بيان لها «بأن طلب نازك الحريري يحرم اللبنانيين من الاطلاع على سيرة شخصية وطنية كان لها أثر بالغ في تاريخ البلاد»، مؤكدة بأن المسلسل لا يسيء للرئيس الحريري بل يُنصفه ويُخلّد ذكراه.
وأعربت القناة عن أسفها لتلقّي هذا القرار من الحريري، وقالت: «هذا القرار يسيء، قبل أيّ شيء، إلى الرئيس نفسه، ويحول دون اطّلاع كثيرين على مسيرته المهنيّة والسياسيّة، خصوصاً أن شركة NMPRO المنتجة للعمل كانت حريصة على أن تكون وفيّة للكثير من تفاصيل حياته ومواقفه كما تلقّتها من أقرب المقرّبين إليه».
وأضاف البيان: «من المؤسف أن السيدة نازك الحريري تتمسّك برفضها عرض العمل منذ أكثر من عشر سنوات، دون حتى مشاهدة أي من الحلقات. حياة الرئيس التي قدّمها فداءً عن اللبنانيين ليست ملكاً خاصاً لأي وريث، بل هي ملك للشعب، ومن حقّ اللبنانيين أن يروا هذا العمل بدل حرمانهم منه دون أسباب مقنعة».
وأكدت MTV التزامها التام بالقرارات القضائية السارية، ولكنها شددت على أنها وشركة NMPRO ستسعيان بكل الطرق القانونية لحماية حقوقهما المعنوية والمادية حتى صدور قرار نهائي بشأن العرض.
والمسلسل من كتابة شكري أنيس فاخوري، وإخراج نديم مهنا، يجسّد أبرز محطات حياة الرئيس الحريري منذ نشأته في مدينة صيدا وصولاً إلى اغتياله عام 2005. ويشارك في بطولته علاء علاء الدين بدور رفيق الحريري، والإعلامية ديانا فاخوري بدور نازك الحريري.
While Nazek Hariri, the widow of the late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, officially requested the cessation of the airing of the series "Rafik" on the Lebanese MTV channel, "MTV" announced its commitment to the decision to air the series.
The channel added in a statement that "Nazek Hariri's request deprives the Lebanese people of learning about the life of a national figure who had a profound impact on the country's history," emphasizing that the series does not insult President Hariri but rather honors him and immortalizes his memory.
The channel expressed its regret at receiving this decision from Hariri, stating: "This decision harms, above all, the president himself, and prevents many from learning about his professional and political journey, especially since the producing company NMPRO was keen to be faithful to many details of his life and positions as received from those closest to him."
The statement added: "It is unfortunate that Mrs. Nazek Hariri insists on her refusal to air the work for more than ten years, without even watching any of the episodes. The life of the president, which he offered as a sacrifice for the Lebanese, is not the private property of any heir, but belongs to the people, and the Lebanese have the right to see this work instead of being deprived of it without convincing reasons."
MTV confirmed its full commitment to the existing judicial decisions, but stressed that it and NMPRO will seek by all legal means to protect their moral and material rights until a final decision regarding the airing is issued.
The series, written by Shukri Anis Fakhouri and directed by Nadim Mahna, depicts the most significant milestones in President Hariri's life from his upbringing in Sidon to his assassination in 2005. It stars Alaa Aladdin as Rafik Hariri and journalist Diana Fakhouri as Nazek Hariri.
