أغلقت الجهات المختصة موقف الرياض بالطائف، بعد نحو نصف قرن من ارتباطه بحركة نقل المسافرين بين الطائف وعدد من مدن المملكة، فيما رصدت «عكاظ»، تحوّل الموقع إلى مشروع استثماري للقطاع الخاص، وخلوه من مركبات «الكدادة»، باستثناء عدد محدود منهم في مواقع متفرقة بحثاً عن الركاب.
وأوضح المؤرخ عيسى القصير لـ«عكاظ»، أن الموقع الأول لموقف الرياض والدول المجاورة بالطائف اختير عام 1398هـ في شارع حسان، قبل انتقاله إلى برحة العباس، ثم إلى موقعه الحالي. وذكر، أن أجرة الراكب في ذلك الوقت بلغت 20 ريالاً في الباص الصغير، و30 ريالاً بسيارة الأجرة «التاكسي»، قبل أن ترتفع لاحقاً إلى 50 ريالاً للراكب، بالتزامن مع زيادة أجور سيارات الأجرة المتجهة إلى مكة المكرمة وجدة.
وكانت «عكاظ»، قد رصدت في تقرير سابق تحولات مهنة «الكدادة»، عقب طي الهيئة العامة للنقل صفحة المناداة أو ممارسة النقل دون ترخيص، باعتبارها مخالفة صريحة لنظام النقل البري، مع عقوبات تصل إلى 20 ألف ريال، وحجز المركبة لمدة تصل إلى 60 يوماً، وقد تصل إلى بيعها في مزاد علني.
وبإغلاق الموقف، تُطوى صفحة امتدت لعقود، ارتبط خلالها الشارع السعودي بظاهرة «الكدادة»، التي اشتهرت بالمناداة في المواقف والأسواق والمطارات، وترديد عبارات مثل: «واحد نفر.. جدة.. الرياض.. بطحاء.. الدمام»، فيما كان بعضهم يحمل متعلقات الركاب أو يسحبها لضمان حجز مقعد لهم في مركباته.
The relevant authorities have closed the Riyadh station in Taif, after nearly half a century of its association with the transportation of passengers between Taif and several cities in the Kingdom. "Okaz" has reported that the site is being transformed into an investment project for the private sector, and it is devoid of "kaddadah" vehicles, except for a limited number of them in scattered locations searching for passengers.
Historian Issa Al-Qusayr explained to "Okaz" that the original location of the Riyadh and neighboring countries station in Taif was chosen in 1398 AH on Hassan Street, before moving to the Abbas courtyard, and then to its current location. He mentioned that the fare for a passenger at that time was 20 riyals in a small bus and 30 riyals in a taxi, before it later rose to 50 riyals per passenger, coinciding with the increase in taxi fares heading to Mecca and Jeddah.
"Okaz" had previously reported in an earlier report on the transformations of the "kaddadah" profession, following the General Transport Authority's closure of the practice of unlicensed transportation, considering it a clear violation of the land transport system, with penalties reaching up to 20,000 riyals, and the vehicle being impounded for up to 60 days, which could lead to its sale at a public auction.
With the closure of the station, a chapter that has lasted for decades comes to an end, during which the Saudi street was linked to the phenomenon of "kaddadah," which became famous for calling out in stations, markets, and airports, repeating phrases like: "One person... Jeddah... Riyadh... Batha... Dammam," while some would carry passengers' belongings or pull them to ensure a seat reservation for them in their vehicles.
