طالب سكان مخطط أم القرى والوسيعة الجهات المختصة بالتدخل لتحويل الملعب الرياضي، الذي أنشأته أمانة العاصمة المقدسة قبل نحو عشرة أعوام، إلى حديقة عامة تخدم جميع فئات الحي، بدلاً من اقتصار الاستفادة منه على فئة الشباب فقط.
وأوضح كل من محمد المولد، وناصر الشبيكي، وإبراهيم أبو مندورة، وسعد علي، أن مساحة الموقع تسمح بتنفيذ الحديقة بسهولة، مشيرين إلى إمكانية اقتطاع جزء من الحديقة الحالية لربط شوارع الحي ببعضها وتسهيل الحركة المرورية الداخله.
وقال فواز اللحياني، وهو أحد سكان الحي منذ ثماني سنوات: إن منزله ملاصق للملعب، وإن الإزعاج لا يتوقف على مدار الساعة بسبب الأصوات المرتفعة للشباب، خصوصاً في أوقات الراحة والنوم. وأضاف: إن أغلب مرتادي الملعب ليسوا من سكان الحي، مما يجعل التواصل معهم أو التفاهم حول تخفيف الإزعاج أمراً صعباً.
أما ناصر الغامدي فأشار إلى أن الأهالي لا يعارضون ممارسة الشباب لهواياتهم، بل يسعدون برؤيتهم يلعبون، لكن المشكلة تكمن في رفع أصوات سماعات السيارات حتى ساعات متأخرة من الليل، ورغم محاولات الأهالي للتفاهم معهم إلا أنهم تعرضوا للمضايقة.
وفي السياق ذاته، قال فايع عسيري: إن سكان الحي يحلمون بتدخل الأمانة لإعادة تخطيط الحديقة وربطها بالشوارع المؤدية لبقية أجزاء الحي، لتخفيف معاناتهم اليومية في الالتفاف حول الموقع للوصول إلى منازلهم.
كما دعا رجاء الله السلمي وزكي حلبي، البلدية، إلى توفير حاويات نفايات في المواقع التي تفتقر إليها داخل الحي. فيما طالب سمير الحازمي، وماجد الصبحي فرق الصيانة في الأمانة بإصلاح ألعاب الأطفال داخل الحديقة الحالية، حتى تصبح مكاناً مناسباً لجلوس الأسر واستمتاعهم بأوقاتهم.
The residents of the Umm Al-Qura and Al-Wasiah neighborhoods have called on the relevant authorities to intervene to transform the sports field, which was established by the Holy Capital Municipality about ten years ago, into a public park that serves all segments of the neighborhood, instead of limiting its benefits to the youth only.
Mohammed Al-Mawlid, Nasser Al-Shabiki, Ibrahim Abu Mandoura, and Saad Ali explained that the area of the site allows for the easy implementation of the park, noting the possibility of carving out part of the current park to connect the neighborhood streets with each other and facilitate internal traffic flow.
Fawaz Al-Luhayani, a resident of the neighborhood for eight years, stated that his house is adjacent to the field, and the noise does not stop around the clock due to the loud sounds from the youth, especially during rest and sleep times. He added that most of the field's visitors are not residents of the neighborhood, making it difficult to communicate with them or come to an understanding about reducing the noise.
On the other hand, Nasser Al-Ghamdi pointed out that the residents do not oppose the youth practicing their hobbies; rather, they are happy to see them playing. However, the problem lies in the loud sounds from car speakers until late at night, and despite the residents' attempts to communicate with them, they have faced harassment.
In the same context, Faiyad Asiri said that the neighborhood residents dream of the municipality intervening to redesign the park and connect it to the streets leading to other parts of the neighborhood, to alleviate their daily struggles in navigating around the site to reach their homes.
Additionally, Raji Allah Al-Sulami and Zaki Halabi called on the municipality to provide waste bins in the areas that lack them within the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Samir Al-Hazmi and Majid Al-Sobhi urged the maintenance teams at the municipality to repair the children's playground equipment in the current park, so it becomes a suitable place for families to sit and enjoy their time.
