For us, it is not just a tournament or a cup that starts and ends as the stadium says; it is a goal, not a result. We grew with it, and it grew with us.
Jeddah, the smiling face of the homeland, has formed a mark of quality in this edition with its fragrance and heritage. Its visitors loved it at first sight, and anyone who does not fall in love with Jeddah must reshape their five senses, and I did not exclude any sense.
The Gulf Cup remains a legacy passed down through generations; through it, sports were built, and through it, (peoples intermarried). As for me, I cherish it with a love that makes me see it as a beautiful woman growing and becoming more beautiful. Isn't that right, Al-Ateeb?!
The poet Al-Ateeb is the one who said:
People grow and their beauty changes
But she is different; people grow and become more beautiful. Indeed, the Gulf Cup is like that; age has only added to its charm.
Today, our national team faces Iraq to maintain the lead in the group, and regardless of the calculations, the match between Saudi Arabia and Iraq holds special importance, with competition, spirit, and enthusiasm forming a triangle of creativity.
The analyst from Al-Kass Channel, my colleague Ahmed Al-Rawas, says: There is no competition in the Gulf Cup that resembles the competition between Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. He - and this is Al-Rawas's statement - is the constant throughout the ages, a view that has not pleased the rest who love the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.
I really don't know why this classification? But I am certain that Al-Rawas has evidence that supports his opinion, yet they did not give him the chance to elaborate.
I may disagree with him or agree, but the problem is not here; rather, it is that due to our excessive sensitivity, we do not like to discuss an opinion that we do not agree with!
The beauty of opinions in pluralistic dialogue programs lies in their enrichment, and the worst part is the refusal to accept any opinion that does not align with our convictions.
How can we develop if we do not believe in the opinion and the other opinion?!
