Today (Thursday), life returns to the stadiums once again, with the glow of its stands and the cheers and chants of its fans, and the beauty adorned by local and foreign players through a performance and football artistry that touches the aspirations of the significant leap witnessed by Saudi football and its clubs. This is evidenced by the extravagant contracts with big names from around the world, whose presence in the Saudi league has become a familiar sight after being a dream that seemed impossible to imagine or even think about. Today, it has become a reality like the other impossibilities that have amazed the world, which began with a modern era for our beloved Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with a phase defined by the bright features of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them - through a creative vision whose fruits we see, thank God, in various fields and aspects of life, with sports being an important and inseparable part of it. We are awaiting a near expected development, God willing, that matches the great attention it receives and the billions spent on it, so that Saudi Arabia can have its weight and significance in sports, just as it does in religious, political, and economic matters.
- Today, the first matches of the first round kick off with three encounters: Damak vs. Al-Hazm, Al-Ettifaq vs. Al-Kholood, and Al-Ahli against the new guest Neom. On Friday, matches will take place between Al-Hilal and Al-Riyadh, Al-Shabab and Al-Khaleej, and Al-Taawun vs. Al-Nasr. The round concludes with three matches: Al-Fateh vs. Al-Faihah, Al-Qadisiyah vs. Al-Najma, which returns after a long absence from the spotlight, and finally, the defending champion Al-Ittihad faces Al-Akhdoood at their home ground, amidst fans eager to welcome the Jeddah guest.
- The signs of beginnings are very difficult, and it is wrong to judge them, but there remain indicators that chase memories that tease the hopes of those eager for football creativity, with great hopes of repeating achievements that chase big clubs, aligned with a wide imagination that wanders in a world of dreams and wishes for the rest of the clubs and their fans, hoping that this season will bring them luck and a share in a fair and honorable competition that overturns all predictions and expectations. The equation in this "round ball" is that if it smiles at you, it lifts you to the highest sky, and if it frowns and scowls, it throws you to the depths of the earth, leaving you with no one to show mercy or sympathy.
- My colleague Ahmed Al-Shamrani, my morning friend, sometimes provokes me with "hazy" names and titles invented by his imagination that lack "credibility," and when you search for their meanings in reality, you find them "illusory." He claims that Al-Nasr is the "Club of the Simple," a title that contradicts the culture of its founders and fans who see it as the "Club of the Greats," inspired by its name and the great men who served it and the stars who entertained us with their skills and goals, most notably the "Legend of Saudi Football," with unforgettable cheers calling his name, close to the admiration echoed by the voice of the East's planet, and with every shake of the opponent's net, you hear the crowd saying, "What greatness is this, Majed?"
- With strong feelings of sympathy towards his beloved Al-Ahli before the "Super" Championship, "Abu Mohammed" makes me laugh a lot by describing Al-Ahli as "the father of good intentions." If we go back to history and the course of events, we would find "wonders." Perhaps its relegation to the "Yellow" league was a harsh lesson related to the fluctuations of time and good intentions.
- And speaking of the subject: regarding this season's league, I believe that the club that will truly achieve its championship is the one that genuinely embodies "good intentions" in its system and structure, through a football enjoyment based on fair competition and the justice of the "Mous on all noses" law. So, who will be the league champion? I think it will bear the emblem of "the one with good intentions triumphs over the one with two intentions"… and God knows best.
