لا تزال «طلعة الجزيرة» جنوب بيشة، تشكل منذ إنشائها على طريق بيشة خميس مشيط هاجساً لمرتاديها وعابريها، نظراً إلى مسارها الواحد وكثرة المنعطفات والمنحنيات الحادة والخطرة على الرغم من قصر مسافتها التي لا تزيد على 3 كيلومترات تقريباً. وشهدت الطلعة العديد من الحوادث المأساوية التي راح ضحيتها عدد من الأبرياء. وطالب عدد من مرتادي الطريق وزارة النقل بسرعة تنفيذ ازدواجية الجزء الواقع في الجزيرة وتعديل مسار المنعطفات والمنحنيات على الطريق.
وقال عبدالله الواهبي لـ«عكاظ»: «لم تكتمل فرحة أهالي مركزي صمخ وخيبر الجنوب، ومرتادي طريق بيشة خميس مشيط، باعتماد مشروع ازدواجية الطريق على عدة مراحل، إذ تم تنفيذ وتشغيل المراحل الثلاث الأولى بين محافظة بيشة ومركز صمخ إلا أن المرحلتين الأخيرتين بين صمخ وخيبر الجنوب يسير العمل فيهما ببطء، إضافة إلى عدم البدء في تنفيذ ازدواجية وتصحيح مسارات طلعة الجزيرة التي تعتبر من أخطر النقاط على الطريق وتشهد ازدحاماً يومياً بالشاحنات».
وأكد عبدالله الشهراني، أن طلعة الجزيرة ومنحنياتها تعتبر من أخطر المواقع على الطريق الذي يشهد حركة مرورية كثيفة، بعد ربطه بطريق بيشة الرين الرياض.
فيما أشار محمد الحلافي، إلى أنه يحمل هماً ثقيلاً حين يفكر في رحلته من بيشة إلى خميس مشيط خصوصاً عند اقترابه من منحنيات وطلعة الجزيرة بين مركزي صمخ وخيبر الجنوب، بسبب ازدحام الحركة ذات المسار الواحد، والتجاوز الخاطئ من بعض قائدي المركبات، مطالباً وزارة النقل بالتحرك سريعاً، وتزويد الطريق بما يحتاج من وسائل السلامة وإنهاء الأخطار عليه.
وبين محمد الهاجري، أنه فقد اثنين من أصدقائه بسبب المنعطفات الخطرة في الجزيرة، نتيجة التجاوز الخاطئ من قائد شاحنة، مشيراً إلى أن بقاء المنعطفات على حالها يزيد من المخاطر على الحركة المرورية وعند هطول الأمطار وحدوث الانهيارات الصخرية.

The "Al-Jazeera Climb" south of Bisha has been a concern for its visitors and passersby since its establishment on the Bisha-Khamis Mushait road, due to its single lane and the numerous sharp and dangerous turns, despite its short distance of about 3 kilometers. The climb has witnessed many tragic accidents that have claimed the lives of several innocent people. A number of road users have called on the Ministry of Transport to expedite the dualization of the section located in the island and to modify the path of the turns and curves on the road.
Abdullah Al-Wahibi told "Okaz": "The joy of the people of the centers of Samakh and Khaibar Al-Janub, as well as the users of the Bisha-Khamis Mushait road, has not been completed with the approval of the dualization project for the road in several phases. The first three phases between Bisha and Samakh have been implemented and are operational, but the last two phases between Samakh and Khaibar Al-Janub are progressing slowly, in addition to the lack of initiation of the dualization and correction of the paths of the Al-Jazeera climb, which is considered one of the most dangerous points on the road and witnesses daily congestion of trucks."
Abdullah Al-Shahrani confirmed that the Al-Jazeera climb and its curves are among the most dangerous locations on the road, which experiences heavy traffic, especially after being linked to the Bisha-Rain-Riyadh road.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al-Hilafi pointed out that he carries a heavy burden when thinking about his journey from Bisha to Khamis Mushait, especially as he approaches the curves and the Al-Jazeera climb between the centers of Samakh and Khaibar Al-Janub, due to the congestion of the single lane traffic and the incorrect overtaking by some vehicle drivers, calling on the Ministry of Transport to act quickly, provide the road with the necessary safety measures, and eliminate the dangers on it.
Mohammed Al-Hajri mentioned that he lost two of his friends due to the dangerous turns in the island, as a result of incorrect overtaking by a truck driver, pointing out that keeping the turns as they are increases the risks to traffic, especially during rainfall and the occurrence of rockslides.
