The bride in Upper Egypt did not hold a bouquet of flowers as she sat at her wedding in the village of "Asmant," which is part of the Nagada Center in Qena Governorate. Instead, she held a light automatic weapon in her hands and swayed it to the rhythms of the celebration among the guests, turning their wedding into a display of firearms and live ammunition.
The participants in the wedding believed that the incident had passed without issue and that the memories of that day had faded with time. However, the algorithms of social media had a different opinion. When users began to circulate the video heavily in the last few hours, the security devices of Qena Security Directorate immediately detected the violation.
Although investigations revealed that the old clip dates back about a year and a half, the boasting about the automatic weapon and terrorizing citizens does not become obsolete in the corridors of the Ministry of Interior.
Quickly, the detectives of the Nagada Center identified the individuals in the video and raided their location. The operation resulted in the arrest of five people who appeared in the circulated clip, including the bride, her relative, and three male relatives, as well as the seizure of the automatic weapon used in the display.
Upon confronting the suspects, they admitted that the incident occurred under the pretext of "celebrating the wedding," leading to the necessary report being filed and the bride and the others being referred to the public prosecution to initiate investigations regarding the possession of an unlicensed weapon.
