لم تكن رحلة روتينية من الجنوب الغربي نحو عاصمة الكونغو الديمقراطية كينشاسا، بل تحولت في لحظات مأساوية إلى مشهد دموي يطوي صفحة قيادات بارزة في الجيش.
أدى عطل فني مفاجئ في الجو إلى دفع الطيار إلى القيام بمحاولة يائسة للهبوط اضطرارياً بالطائرة العسكرية في مدينة «كينجي» بإقليم كوانغو، لكن غياب وجود مدرج مخصص أجبر الطائرة على الاصطدام المباشر بقطعة أرض سكنية.
ذلك الاصطدام العنيف نجم عنه مقتل جميع من كان على متن الطائرة وعددهم 13 شخصاً، بينهم الجنرال ليكوليا باكومي المدقق العام للجيش، إلى جانب ضباط برتب رائد ونقيب وعسكريين ومدنيين آخرين.
وحول صعوبة المشهد، أوضح نائب حاكم الإقليم أن النيران المشتعلة عقب السقوط تفحمت بسببها جثث 12 راكباً لدرجة تعذر معها التعرف عليهم، بينما عُثر على جثة الطيار قريباً من الحطام.
وأعلنت السلطات الحكومية في الكونغو الديمقراطية فتح تحقيق عاجل عبر هيئة حوادث الطيران للوقوف على الأسباب الفنية الدقيقة التي أدت لتوقف المحركات وتسببها في هذه المأساة الجوية.

A sudden technical failure in the air forced the pilot to make a desperate attempt to land the military aircraft emergency in the city of "Kingi" in the Kwango province, but the lack of a designated runway forced the plane to crash directly into a residential area.
This violent collision resulted in the death of all 13 people on board, including General Likoulia Bakumi, the army's inspector general, along with officers holding the ranks of major and captain, as well as other military personnel and civilians.
Regarding the difficulty of the scene, the deputy governor of the province explained that the bodies of 12 passengers were charred beyond recognition due to the flames that erupted after the crash, while the pilot's body was found near the wreckage.
The Congolese government authorities announced the opening of an urgent investigation through the aviation accident authority to determine the precise technical reasons that led to the engine failure and caused this aviation tragedy.
