في عتمة الفجر، تسلل شاب عشريني بحذر إلى أحد المنازل بمحافظة إربد الأردنية، متوهماً أن الحظ سيحالفه للظفر بصيد سهل. وبحركة سريعة ومدروسة، بدأ الشاب بجمع المقتنيات الثمينة من غرف المنزل، ووضعها داخل كيس كان يحمله استعداداً للمغادرة بالغنيمة قبل كشف أمره.
لكن المخطط السريع انكسر في لحظة صادمة، حيث شعر صاحب المنزل بحركة غريبة وصوت غير عادي في أروقة بيته، فاستيقظ ليستطلع الأمر. وبمجرد أن أدرك اللص أن أمره قد كُشف وأن خطة الهروب الآمن قد سُدت، استبد به الهلع، فاختار الخروج الحاد والخطير، عبر القفز المباشر من نافذة الطابق الثالث نحو الأرض!
سقوط اللص الهاوي أحدث دوياً أربك هدوء الفجر في المنطقة، ليتجمهر الجيران على جسد الشاب المصاب الذي حال تحرك أصحاب المنزل دون إتمام فراره.
