The attempts to claim memory loss did not succeed in changing the legal course of one of the largest judicial cases in Kuwait, as medical examination reports provided a definitive statement regarding the domestic crime that occurred during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
In front of the second circuit of the Court of Appeals in Kuwait, the judicial decision was issued upholding the death penalty against a Kuwaiti citizen accused of ending the life of his wife in the "Bour Al-Mutlaa" area. The decision came after the court received a psychiatric report assigned to examine the mental faculties of the accused, which revealed a clear exaggeration in displaying pathological symptoms aimed at feigning illness and evading accountability, confirming his full awareness and sound memory and consciousness of his actions at the moment of the incident.
In the same session, the court confirmed another death sentence against a citizen in a case of kidnapping a child in the "Midan Hawalli" area and assaulting him inside his residence.
The background of this case goes back to the precise and swift investigations conducted by the capital's security forces, where the security teams succeeded in tracing the accused and arresting him within a period not exceeding 24 hours from the time the child was taken, officially closing the file by upholding the death sentences against the accused in both crimes.
