احتفالاً باليوم الوطني السعودي، تحتفي ستاربكس، التي تديرها مجموعة الشايع في المنطقة، بثقافة المملكة الغنية وإبداعها من خلال إطلاق كوب بتصميم خاص مستوحى من التراث السعودي، وفنون العمارة، ونقوش السدو التقليدية، وتنوع الطبيعة والحياة البرية في المملكة، حيث يروي كل تفصيل فيه جانباً من الهوية الثقافية السعودية.
ولتجسيد القصة الكامنة وراء هذا التصميم وإبرازها، دعت ستاربكس مجموعة من الفنانين السعوديين للانطلاق في رحلات غامرة عبر أنحاء المملكة، لاستكشاف الأماكن والتقاليد التي ألهمت الرسوم والتصاميم الفريدة التي تزين كوب «اليوم الوطني». وقد تم توثيق هذه الرحلة الإبداعية في سلسلة محتوى تفاعلية عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، تسلط الضوء على كيفية استمرار التراث السعودي في تشكيل الإبداع المعاصر.
ومن بين الفنانين المشاركين، معاذ العوفي، المصور الفوتوغرافي المعاصر المعروف بأعماله التي توثق جمال الطبيعة السعودية وعلاقتها بالهوية الثقافية للمملكة. وبهذه المناسبة، قال: «يُعد اليوم الوطني السعودي فرصة ثمينة للتأمل في تراثنا والجمال الطبيعي الذي يجسد ثقافتنا. ومن خلال السرد البصري، أتطلع إلى إبراز العلاقة بين مناظرنا الطبيعية وهويتنا السعودية».
كما تعاونت فنانة الجداريات نورة بن سعيدان مع الحرفية القديرة «لَهدة العنزي» في المعهد الملكي للفنون التقليدية (وِرث)، حيث تعرّفت عن قرب على حرفة السدو والقصص الغنية المرتبطة بها. وخلال هذه التجربة، تعرفت نورة على التقنيات الأساسية لحرفة السدو - بدءًا من غزل المواد الخام وفتلها وصباغتها وصولاً إلى النسيج المعقد وتصميم الزخارف الأصيلة. وسلطت هذه التجربة الضوء على السدو ليس باعتباره جزءاً من التراث الذي يتم الحفاظ عليه للأجيال المقبلة فحسب، بل أيضاً كمصدر إلهام للإبداع الفني المعاصر وتطوير المنتجات. كما عبرت نورة عن حماسها، قائلةً: «بالنسبة لي، يمثل اليوم الوطني فرصة للاحتفاء بتقاليدنا والتطلع إلى المستقبل. فحرفة السدو تحمل بين خيوطها الكثير من قصص الماضي، ويسعدني أن أشارك هذه الرحلة التي تجمع بين الاكتشاف والإبداع».
أما الفنانة هبة إسماعيل، فقد استكشفت التفاصيل الحرفية الدقيقة والجماليات المعمارية الفريدة التي تتميز بها العمارة النجدية، وقدمت رؤية معاصرة مستوحاة من هذا الإرث الثقافي الغني. وقالت هبة: «كان استكشاف العمارة النجدية رحلة مليئة بالاكتشاف والإلهام. في هذا اليوم الوطني، أحتفي ليس فقط بالمباني، بل بالقصص التي تحملها في تفاصيلها. إنها فرصة للاعتزاز بجذورنا مع مواصلة دفع حدود الإبداع نحو آفاق جديدة».
وسيحوّل الفنانون تجاربهم وما اكتسبوه من معارف خلال هذه الرحلات إلى أعمال فنية أصلية تعيد تقديم القصص الكامنة وراء الرموز والتفاصيل التي يتضمنها تصميم الكوب برؤية معاصرة. كما ستُعرض هذه الأعمال الفنية الأصلية في وقت لاحق من العام، لتواصل سرد القصة التي بدأها هذا التصميم، وتدعو ستاربكس الجميع إلى متابعة حسابها على إنستغرام للاطلاع على آخر المستجدات المتعلقة بهذا المعرض المميز.

In celebration of Saudi National Day, Starbucks, managed by the Alshaya Group in the region, honors the rich culture and creativity of the Kingdom by launching a specially designed cup inspired by Saudi heritage, architectural arts, traditional Sadu patterns, and the diversity of nature and wildlife in the Kingdom, where every detail tells a part of the Saudi cultural identity.
To embody and highlight the story behind this design, Starbucks invited a group of Saudi artists to embark on immersive journeys across the Kingdom, exploring the places and traditions that inspired the unique illustrations and designs adorning the "National Day" cup. This creative journey has been documented in an interactive content series across social media platforms, showcasing how Saudi heritage continues to shape contemporary creativity.
Among the participating artists is Muath Al-Oufi, a contemporary photographer known for his works that document the beauty of Saudi nature and its relationship with the Kingdom's cultural identity. On this occasion, he said: "Saudi National Day is a precious opportunity to reflect on our heritage and the natural beauty that embodies our culture. Through visual storytelling, I look forward to highlighting the connection between our landscapes and our Saudi identity."
The mural artist Nora Bin Saidan also collaborated with the skilled artisan "Lahda Al-Anzi" at the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wirth), where she closely learned about the craft of Sadu and the rich stories associated with it. During this experience, Nora became familiar with the essential techniques of the Sadu craft—from spinning raw materials and twisting and dyeing them to the intricate weaving and design of authentic patterns. This experience highlighted Sadu not only as part of the heritage preserved for future generations but also as a source of inspiration for contemporary artistic creativity and product development. Nora expressed her enthusiasm, saying: "For me, National Day represents an opportunity to celebrate our traditions and look to the future. The craft of Sadu carries many stories of the past within its threads, and I am delighted to share this journey that combines discovery and creativity."
As for the artist Hiba Ismail, she explored the intricate craftsmanship and unique architectural aesthetics characteristic of Najdi architecture, presenting a contemporary vision inspired by this rich cultural heritage. Hiba said: "Exploring Najdi architecture was a journey filled with discovery and inspiration. On this National Day, I celebrate not only the buildings but the stories they carry in their details. It is an opportunity to take pride in our roots while continuing to push the boundaries of creativity towards new horizons."
The artists will transform their experiences and the knowledge gained during these journeys into original artworks that reinterpret the stories behind the symbols and details included in the cup's design with a contemporary vision. These original artworks will be showcased later in the year, continuing the narrative initiated by this design, and Starbucks invites everyone to follow its Instagram account for the latest updates regarding this special exhibition.
