في واقعة عنيفة تجردت من كافة معاني الإنسانية وهزت الرأي العام، تحول حرم مدرسي بمدينة «غازيبور» في بنغلاديش إلى مسرح لكابوس بشع، عقب إلقاء الأجهزة الأمنية القبض على مدير مدرسة ومساعدَيه الاثنين، إثر إدانتهم بممارسة أشكال صادمة من التعذيب الجسدي بحق طالبين، وتكبيلهما وكي أجسادهما النحيلة بـ«الحديد والنار».
الفاجعة التي تفجرت إثر بلاغات عاجلة من أسر الضحايا، كشفت سلوكاً إجرامياً سادياً مارسه الطاقم الإداري والتعليمي بحجة «التأديب»، ممّا أسفر عن إحالة المتهمين الثلاثة مباشرة إلى المحاكمة الجنائية.
وبحسب المحاضر الرسمية ولائحة الاتهامات، بدأت الجريمة بعد سقوط زي الطفلين المدرسي بالخطأ أثناء لعبهما في ساحة المدرسة، ليتخذ الكادر المدرسي قراراً عاجلاً بالانتقام:
- الضحية الأول: أقدم مدير المدرسة على تجريده من ملابسه وضربه المبرح بعصا من الخيزران، قبل أن يحمي قطعة حديدية ويكوي بها جسد الطفل الصغير.
- الضحية الثاني: جرى احتجازه داخل غرفة مغلقة، وتقييد يديه وقدميه بحبال ثقيلة وتكميم شفتيه بشريط لاصق لكتم أنفاسه، ليتناوب المدرسون الثلاثة على تجريده وضربه، ثم كَي فخذيه وأردافه باستخدام «مغرفة معدنية» شديدة الحرارة.
وانكشفت تفاصيل الحادثة بعد أيام قليلة بطرق مفجعة للأسر، حيث لاحظ أحد الآباء صعوبة شديدة يواجهها طفله في الجلوس أو المشي، ليكتشف حروقاً بالغة في جسده حاول الطفل إخفاءها تحت وطأة الرعب ادعاءً أنها «دمل».
فيما اكتشف والد الطفل الثاني نقل ابنه إلى المستشفى في حالة صحية حادّة وخطيرة، بعدما حاولت إدارة المدرسة التغطية على الحادثة ومحو آثاره عبر الادعاء بنقل الطفل إلى فرع آخر.
وأكدت الشرطة استكمال الإجراءات القانونية فوراً وعمدت إلى إحالة مدير المدرسة ومساعدَيه إلى القضاء، إثر ثبوت أدلة الجرم المشهود والتعذيب الوحشي بحق طفلين.
In a violent incident stripped of all meanings of humanity that shook public opinion, a school campus in the city of "Gazipur" in Bangladesh turned into a scene of a horrific nightmare, following the arrest of the school principal and his two assistants by security forces, after they were convicted of practicing shocking forms of physical torture against two students, binding them and burning their frail bodies with "iron and fire".
The tragedy, which erupted following urgent reports from the victims' families, revealed a sadistic criminal behavior practiced by the administrative and educational staff under the pretext of "discipline", resulting in the immediate referral of the three accused to criminal trial.
According to the official reports and the list of charges, the crime began after the children's school uniforms accidentally fell off while they were playing in the school yard, prompting the school staff to make an urgent decision for revenge:
- Victim one: The school principal stripped him of his clothes and brutally beat him with a bamboo stick, before heating a metal piece and burning the small child's body with it.
- Victim two: He was locked in a closed room, his hands and feet bound with heavy ropes, and his lips taped shut to stifle his breath, while the three teachers took turns stripping him and beating him, then burning his thighs and buttocks using a "metal ladle" that was extremely hot.
The details of the incident were revealed a few days later in shocking ways for the families, as one father noticed his child was having extreme difficulty sitting or walking, only to discover severe burns on his body that the child tried to hide out of fear, claiming they were "boils".
Meanwhile, the father of the second child discovered that his son had been taken to the hospital in a critical and dangerous health condition, after the school administration attempted to cover up the incident and erase its traces by claiming to transfer the child to another branch.
The police confirmed that legal procedures were immediately completed and proceeded to refer the school principal and his assistants to the judiciary, after evidence of the witnessed crime and the brutal torture against the two children was established.
