في لحظة غفلة سقط فيها العقل أمام الوهم، حوّل مواطن أردني مدخراته و«تحويشة عمره» لمنزل محتالين، بعدما اقتنع بوجبات دسمة من الخرافات كان أغربها على الإطلاق: قدرة الجان على فك قيود أعتى المساجين وإخراجهم من داخل السجون.
بدأت الخدعة بحبكة درامية متقنة، حيث أوهم المتهم الأول ضحيته بأنه «ممسوس» بسحر أسود صنعت له إحدى زوجات أشقائه، ومسلماً إياه زجاجات زيت ومياه ومساحيق مجهولة كعلاج. ولما وجد المحتال ضحيته جاهزة لابتلاع أي وهم، ارتفعت سقف الادعاءات، من استخراج الذهب والكنوز المدفونة تحت الأرض، وصولاً للزعم بالاتصال بشخصيات نافذة في الدولة، والاستعانة بالجن لتهريب السجناء.
وعلى مدار جلسات الدجل، تسلم المتهم وزوجته مبالغ نقدية وحوالات مالية متتالية بلغت 5800 دينار أردني، جرى تحويل جانب منها باسم الزوجة التي تختفي حتى اللحظة. وعندما أفاق المجني عليه من الصدمة واكتشف حجم الفخ، توجه فوراً إلى الأجهزة الأمنية الأردنية ليفتح بلاغاً رسمياً فكك خيوط الجريمة.
وأمام محكمة صلح جزاء الزرقاء، أثبتت البينات أن ما جرى لم يكن مجرد كذب عابر، بل «طرق احتيالية ومظاهر خارجية» هدفت للاستيلاء على المال بصورة غير مشروعة. وقضت المحكمة بحبس المتهم وزوجته الهاربة سنة كاملة مع الغرامة والرسوم، ليتضح أن الجان الذي وعد بإخراج المساجين، لم يستطع حتى حماية دجاليه من قبضة القانون!
In a moment of distraction where reason fell before illusion, a Jordanian citizen converted his savings and "life's savings" into a house of fraudsters, after being convinced by a lavish meal of superstitions, the strangest of which was: the ability of jinn to break the chains of the most hardened prisoners and release them from within prisons.
The trick began with a meticulously crafted dramatic plot, where the first accused deceived his victim into believing that he was "possessed" by black magic created by one of his brothers' wives, handing him bottles of oil, water, and unknown powders as treatment. When the fraudster found his victim ready to swallow any illusion, the claims escalated, from extracting gold and buried treasures under the ground, to claiming contact with influential figures in the state, and enlisting jinn to smuggle prisoners.
Throughout the sessions of deception, the accused and his wife received cash amounts and successive money transfers totaling 5,800 Jordanian dinars, part of which was transferred in the name of the wife who has been missing until now. When the victim came to his senses from the shock and discovered the extent of the trap, he immediately approached the Jordanian security agencies to file an official report that unraveled the threads of the crime.
Before the Zarka Summary Court, the evidence proved that what occurred was not just a fleeting lie, but "fraudulent methods and external appearances" aimed at unlawfully seizing money. The court sentenced the accused and his fugitive wife to a full year in prison along with fines and fees, revealing that the jinn who promised to release the prisoners could not even protect his fraudsters from the grip of the law!
