شهد متحف رينوار في مدينة كاني-سور-مير جنوب فرنسا، فجر الثلاثاء، عملية اقتحام نفذها شخصان تمكنا من سرقة أربعة أعمال فنية قبل أن يلوذا بالفرار، تاركين إحدى اللوحات خلفهما أثناء الهروب، في حادثة أعادت تسليط الضوء على استهداف المتاحف الأوروبية من قبل شبكات السرقة المنظمة.
وبحسب السلطات الفرنسية، فقد دوّى إنذار المتحف عند الساعة 5:48 صباحًا، لتصل الشرطة إلى الموقع خلال خمس دقائق فقط، حيث أظهرت كاميرات المراقبة المشتبه بهما وهما يغادران مسرعين، ويسقطان إحدى اللوحات التي كانت بحوزتهما. وبدأت القوات المحلية والوطنية عملية مطاردة واسعة لتحديد هويتهما واستعادة الأعمال المسروقة، وسط غياب أي معلومات حول قيمة القطع الفنية التي اختفت.
ويُعد المتحف، الذي تأسس عام 1960 وخضع لعمليات تجديد خلال العقد الثاني من القرن الواحد والعشرين، من أبرز المعالم الثقافية في جنوب فرنسا، إذ يحتفي بإرث الرسام الانطباعي الشهير بيير-أوغست رينوار، الذي توفي عام 1919، وتُعد أعماله من بين الأكثر قيمة في تاريخ الفن الأوروبي.
The Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer, southern France, experienced a break-in early Tuesday morning, carried out by two individuals who managed to steal four artworks before fleeing, leaving one of the paintings behind during their escape. This incident has once again highlighted the targeting of European museums by organized theft networks.
According to French authorities, the museum alarm went off at 5:48 AM, and the police arrived at the scene within just five minutes. Surveillance cameras showed the suspects leaving in a hurry, dropping one of the paintings they had in their possession. Local and national forces began a wide-ranging pursuit to identify them and recover the stolen artworks, amid a lack of information regarding the value of the missing pieces.
The museum, which was established in 1960 and underwent renovations during the second decade of the 21st century, is one of the prominent cultural landmarks in southern France, celebrating the legacy of the famous Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who passed away in 1919. His works are among the most valuable in the history of European art.
