سجلت أستراليا أدفأ شتاء على الإطلاق، إذ شهدت ولايات فيكتوريا ونيو ساوث ويلز وتسمانيا أدفأ شتاء لها منذ بدء تسجيل البيانات عام 1910م.
وأفادت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الوطنية الأسترالية اليوم أن متوسط درجة الحرارة ارتفع بمقدار 1.45 درجة مئوية عن الفترة بين عامي 1961 و1990م على مستوى البلاد، وهو ثالث أعلى متوسط مسجل لهذا الوقت من العام.
وفي سيدني المطلة على الساحل الشرقي كانت درجات الحرارة في كثير من الأحيان أقرب إلى أجواء الربيع، ومتوسط درجة الحرارة بلغ 15.3 درجة مئوية، وهو مستوى معتدل ولطيف.
وكان الرقم القياسي السابق، البالغ 15 درجة مئوية، تم تسجيله عام 2013، كما سجلت ملبورن والعاصمة كانبرا درجات حرارة مرتفعة بشكل استثنائي.
Australia has recorded its warmest winter on record, with the states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania experiencing their warmest winter since data collection began in 1910.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology reported today that the average temperature has risen by 1.45 degrees Celsius compared to the period between 1961 and 1990 across the country, making it the third highest average recorded for this time of year.
In Sydney, located on the eastern coast, temperatures were often closer to spring-like conditions, with an average temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius, which is a mild and pleasant level.
The previous record, which was 15 degrees Celsius, was set in 2013, and both Melbourne and the capital Canberra recorded exceptionally high temperatures.
