أعلنت السلطات الصينية، اليوم، وفاة ثلاثة أشخاص وفقدان 558 آخرين، إثر انهيار طيني ضخم ضرب ميناءً حدودياً يربط بين الصين ونيبال في منطقة «شيتسانغ» ذاتية الحكم، جنوب غرب الصين.
وقع الانهيار الطيني -الذي انطلق من الجانب النيبالي- في ميناء «قييرونغ» التابع لمحافظة قييرونغ بمدينة «شيغاتسه» صباح أمس.
أطلقت السلطات الصينية، اليوم، عمليات إنقاذ واسعة النطاق، وقامت بتفعيل استجابة طوارئ من المستوى الثاني للكوارث البيولوجية، وأرسلت فريق عمل إلى الموقع المنكوب لتوجيه عمليات الإنقاذ والوقاية من الكوارث الثانوية.
أدت الكارثة إلى قطع الطرق المؤدية إلى الميناء على الجانب الصيني، وكذلك الاتصالات وإمدادات الطاقة، وذلك وفقاً لمكتب إدارة الطوارئ في محافظة قييرونغ في مدينة شيغاتسه.
من جهتها، أفادت السلطات النيبالية، صباح اليوم، بوفاة 162 شخصاً على الأقل بعدما اجتاحت فيضانات هائلة منطقة حدودية بين نيبال والصين، وفقدان مئات السياح والعمال وغيرهم، وتعليق السفر في بعض المناطق.
The Chinese authorities announced today the death of three people and the disappearance of 558 others following a massive landslide that struck a border port connecting China and Nepal in the autonomous region of "Shigatse," southwest China.
The landslide - which originated from the Nepali side - occurred at the "Gyirong" port in Gyirong County, Shigatse City, yesterday morning.
Today, the Chinese authorities launched extensive rescue operations, activated a level two emergency response for biological disasters, and sent a task force to the disaster site to guide rescue operations and prevent secondary disasters.
The disaster resulted in the cutting off of roads leading to the port on the Chinese side, as well as communications and power supplies, according to the Emergency Management Office in Gyirong County, Shigatse City.
For its part, the Nepali authorities reported this morning at least 162 deaths after massive floods swept through a border area between Nepal and China, with hundreds of tourists, workers, and others missing, and travel suspended in some areas.
