وكانت الطائرة المتجهة من مطار فيكتوريا الدولي إلى تورونتو تستعد للإقلاع عندما تمسك الطفل بالوقوف على مقعده رافضاً الانصياع لمحاولات والديه وطاقم الطائرة لتأمينه، مما دفع القائد إلى اتخاذ قرار عاجل بالعودة إلى البوابة حفاظاً على السلامة العامة وإنزال العائلة. ولم يتوقف الأمر عند هذا الحد، إذ تسبب هذا التأخير في تجاوز الساعات المسموحة لتشغيل مدرج المطار، الأمر الذي حال دون إتمام الرحلة في تلك الليلة ودفع الشركة إلى إعادة جدولتها لليوم التالي، متمسكة باعتذارها للركاب عن هذا الإزعاج الاستثنائي.
A young child's refusal to fasten their seatbelt on a flight with Canadian "Porter Airlines" led to the complete cancellation of the flight and forced passengers to spend the night away from their destinations.
The plane, which was heading from Victoria International Airport to Toronto, was preparing for takeoff when the child insisted on standing on their seat, refusing to comply with attempts by their parents and the flight crew to secure them. This prompted the captain to make an urgent decision to return to the gate for the sake of public safety and to disembark the family. The situation did not stop there, as this delay caused the operating hours for the airport runway to be exceeded, preventing the flight from being completed that night and forcing the airline to reschedule it for the following day, while maintaining its apology to passengers for this exceptional inconvenience.
