ولم تأخذ العدالة وقتاً طويلاً لتتحرك، وهبّت عناصر الدرك الملكي فور إخطارها بالحادث إلى المكان، لتتمكن في زمن قياسي من محاصرة المشتبه به وتوقيفه قبل أن يلوذ بالفرار، وجرى اقتياده وسط إجراءات مشددة لاستكمال التحقيقات، تحت إشراف مباشر من النيابة العامة المختصة، سعياً لكشف التسلسل الكامل للأحداث والوقوف على الدوافع الخفية التي أدت إلى هذه النهاية المأساوية.
