شهدت ولايتا هيسن وسكسونيا أنهالت في ألمانيا سلسلة حرائق متزامنة ألحقت أضرارًا جسيمة بمبانٍ تاريخية؛ بينها منازل ذات هياكل خشبية وقلعة تعود لقرون مضت، فيما تواصل السلطات عمليات الإطفاء والتحقيق في الأسباب. في مدينة لاوترباخ بولاية هيسن، اندلع حريق داخل مطعم مطلّ على ساحة السوق في البلدة القديمة، قبل أن يمتد سريعًا إلى خمسة منازل تاريخية متلاصقة، ما أدى إلى تدميرها وجعلها غير صالحة للسكن. وأسفر الحريق عن إصابة خمسة أشخاص بحالات استنشاق دخان، فيما قدّرت الخسائر الأولية بما لا يقل عن خمسة ملايين يورو.
وفي ولاية سكسونيا أنهالت، اندلع حريق واسع في قلعة فالهاوزن التاريخية قرب مدينة زانجرهاوزن، حيث احترق سقف القلعة بالكامل، وشارك 124 رجل إطفاء في محاولة السيطرة على النيران، بدعم من فرق من مناطق مجاورة. وحتى صباح اليوم، لم تُسجَّل إصابات، بينما لا تزال الشرطة عاجزة عن تحديد حجم الأضرار النهائي أو معرفة سبب الحريق الذي اندلع فجرًا.
وتأتي هذه الحوادث في وقت تشهد فيه ألمانيا موجات حرّ غير مسبوقة رفعت درجات الحرارة إلى مستويات قياسية في عدة ولايات، ما يزيد من مخاطر اندلاع الحرائق واتساع رقعتها؛ وفق تقارير الأرصاد الألمانية.
وتواصل الجهات المختصة تقييم الأضرار في القلعة والمنازل التاريخية، وسط مخاوف من فقدان أجزاء مهمة من التراث المعماري الألماني، فيما تبقى التحقيقات مفتوحة لمعرفة ما إذا كانت الظروف المناخية الحارة قد لعبت دورًا في تفاقم هذه الحرائق.

In the town of Lauterbach in Hesse, a fire broke out inside a restaurant overlooking the market square in the old town, before quickly spreading to five adjacent historical houses, leading to their destruction and rendering them uninhabitable. The fire resulted in five people suffering from smoke inhalation, while initial damage estimates are at least five million euros.
In Saxony-Anhalt, a large fire broke out at the historic Walhausen Castle near the town of Sangerhausen, where the castle's roof was completely burned. 124 firefighters participated in efforts to control the flames, supported by teams from neighboring areas. As of this morning, no injuries have been reported, while police are still unable to determine the final extent of the damage or ascertain the cause of the fire that broke out in the early hours.
These incidents come at a time when Germany is experiencing unprecedented heat waves that have raised temperatures to record levels in several states, increasing the risks of fires and their spread, according to German meteorological reports.
The relevant authorities continue to assess the damage to the castle and the historical houses, amid fears of losing important parts of German architectural heritage, while investigations remain open to determine whether the hot weather conditions played a role in exacerbating these fires.
