أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الأربعاء) أن الولايات المتحدة ستوجه ضربات قوية جداً لإيران.
وقال ترمب للصحفيين إن الولايات المتحدة أسقطت خمسة صواريخ أطلقتها إيران أمس (الثلاثاء)، مضيفاً: «لذلك، أصبح الدور علينا الآن، وسنرى ما إذا كنا سنتوصل في مرحلة ما إلى اتفاق، لكننا سنوجه لهم ضربات قوية جداً».
وأوضح ترمب أنه جرى إطلاعه على ما حدث في مصر، مشدداً بالقول: «نتعامل مع مجموعة مختلفة داخل إيران وقد اعتذروا لنا لكننا سنضربهم بقوة على أي حال».
وكان ترمب قد تعهد في وقت سابق اليوم بـ«رد قاطع وقوي» ضد إيران، بعد الهجوم الصاروخي الذي شنه الحرس الثوري بالصواريخ البالستية على قوات أمريكية في الأردن الليلة الماضية.
وأوضح ترمب في تصريحات لشبكة «فوكس نيوز» أن قواته «ستضرب بقوة، ستسحقهم، سيتلقون ضربة قاسية جداً، وستتركهم يتكلمون».
وأشار إلى أن القوات الأمريكية وخلال الهجوم الصاروخي الإيراني «لم يكن أمامها سوى بضع دقائق للرد على الهجوم المفاجئ»، مبيناً أنها «أسقطت الصواريخ القادمة قبل أن تصل إلى أهدافها».
ولفت ترمب إلى أنه راجع مقطع فيديو يظهر أفراداً من القوات الأمريكية وهم يحددون الإحداثيات في الوقت الفعلي أثناء عملية الاعتراض.
من جهة أخرى، ذكرت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية (سنتكوم): «غيّرنا حتى الآن مسار 20 سفينة تجارية وعطلنا سفينتين وصعدنا على متن سفينتين أخريين»، مضيفة: «مضيق هرمز ممر دولي والحرس الثوري لا يملك أي سلطة لفرض مسارات محددة للملاحة فيه».
U.S. President Donald Trump announced today (Wednesday) that the United States will deliver very strong strikes against Iran.
Trump told reporters that the United States intercepted five missiles launched by Iran yesterday (Tuesday), adding, "So, it’s our turn now, and we will see if at some point we reach an agreement, but we will strike them very hard."
Trump clarified that he was briefed on what happened in Egypt, emphasizing, "We are dealing with a different group inside Iran, and they have apologized to us, but we will hit them hard anyway."
Earlier today, Trump had vowed to deliver a "decisive and strong response" against Iran, following the missile attack carried out by the Revolutionary Guard with ballistic missiles on American forces in Jordan last night.
Trump explained in statements to Fox News that his forces "will strike hard, they will crush them, they will receive a very harsh blow, and they will be left talking."
He noted that the American forces, during the Iranian missile attack, "had only a few minutes to respond to the surprise attack," indicating that they "intercepted the incoming missiles before they reached their targets."
Trump pointed out that he reviewed a video showing American personnel determining coordinates in real-time during the interception process.
On another note, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated: "We have redirected 20 commercial ships so far, disabled two ships, and boarded two others," adding, "The Strait of Hormuz is an international passage, and the Revolutionary Guard has no authority to impose specific navigation routes within it."
