أكد الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان اليوم (الأربعاء) أن تشريعاً يتعلق بحل حزب العمال الكردستاني المسلح المحظور سيجري إرساله إلى البرلمان خلال الأيام القادمة.
وجاء تصريح أردوغان عقب اجتماع لمجلس الوزراء، رغم أن حزب العمال الكردستاني كان قد قرر في مايو 2025 نزع سلاحه وحل نفسه بعد دعوة من زعيمه المسجون عبدالله أوجلان.
وخاض الحزب، الذي تصنفه أنقرة وحلفاؤها الغربيون منظمة إرهابية، تمرداً ضد الدولة التركية استمر لعقود.
وفي سياق آخر، قال الرئيس التركي: «أي مبادرة تتجاهل المساواة السيادية للقبارصة الأتراك وحقوقهم ومصالحهم المشروعة لن تنجح»، في تعليقه على إعلان الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش خلال زيارته الجزيرة المقسّمة عن محادثات جديدة بشأنها.
وأوضح أردوغان: «المسألة القبرصية ليست مجرد نقاش في شأن تقاسم السلطة بين مجموعتين، بل تتعلق بصورة أساسية بالاعتراف بالمساواة السيادية وبالوضعية الدولية للشعب القبرصي التركي».
وكان غوتيريش قد قال عقب محادثات أجراها اليوم مع رئيس جمهورية قبرص المعترف بها دولياً نيكوس خريستودوليدس ورئيس جمهورية شمال قبرص التركية المعلنة من جانب واحد توفان إرهورمان: «حصلت على توافق بين الجانبين والدول الضامنة للانتقال إلى عقد اجتماع بصيغة خمسة زائد واحد، ولكن مع تحضير مناسب»، دون أن يحدد الموعد.
وأشار إلى أن المحادثات ستشمل خريستودوليدس وإرهورمان، إلى جانب ممثلين عن اليونان وتركيا والمملكة المتحدة.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed today (Wednesday) that legislation regarding the dissolution of the banned armed Kurdistan Workers' Party will be sent to parliament in the coming days.
Erdoğan's statement came after a cabinet meeting, despite the Kurdistan Workers' Party having decided in May 2025 to disarm and dissolve itself following a call from its imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The party, which Ankara and its Western allies classify as a terrorist organization, has waged a rebellion against the Turkish state for decades.
In another context, the Turkish president stated: “Any initiative that ignores the sovereign equality of Turkish Cypriots and their legitimate rights and interests will not succeed,” commenting on UN Secretary-General António Guterres's announcement during his visit to the divided island regarding new talks about it.
Erdoğan clarified: “The Cyprus issue is not merely a discussion about power-sharing between two groups, but fundamentally concerns the recognition of sovereign equality and the international status of the Turkish Cypriot people.”
Guterres had said after talks he held today with the internationally recognized President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the leader of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Erhurman: “I have obtained a consensus between the sides and the guarantor countries to move towards holding a five-plus-one meeting, but with appropriate preparation,” without specifying a date.
He noted that the talks would include Christodoulides and Erhurman, along with representatives from Greece, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
