بدأت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية تنفيذ ضربات عسكرية ضد إيران، مؤكدة أنها جاءت رداً على محاولات إيران الهجوم على القوات الأمريكية في الشرق الأوسط أمس، في تصعيد جديد ينذر بتوسيع نطاق المواجهة العسكرية في المنطقة.

ونقل موقع أكسيوس عن مسؤول أمريكي أن الضربات الأمريكية جاءت رداً على هجوم صاروخي إيراني استهدف قاعدة أمريكية في الأردن، مشيراً إلى أن الجيش الأمريكي بدأ تنفيذ غارات جوية داخل إيران.
حملة جوية مكثفة
وفي السياق ذاته، نقلت وول ستريت جورنال عن مصادر أمريكية أن وزير الدفاع الأمريكي يدعم حملة جوية مكثفة ضد إيران، فيما شدد قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية على تكثيف الضربات الجوية لإضعاف القدرات الإيرانية.
وأضافت الصحيفة، نقلاً عن مسؤولين أمريكيين، أن هيئة الأركان لا ترى أن تراجع المخزونات العسكرية سيمنع استئناف العمليات ضد إيران إذا اقتضت الحاجة، مؤكدة أن انخفاض المخزونات لن يعرقل استمرار العمليات العسكرية.
خيار لتوسيع الحرب
وكشفت وول ستريت جورنال أيضاً أن خيار قائد القيادة المركزية يهدف إلى تنفيذ تصعيد واسع للحرب مع إيران، في وقت تتسارع فيه التطورات العسكرية بين الجانبين، وسط مخاوف من اتساع رقعة المواجهة في الشرق الأوسط

Axios reported that a U.S. official stated that the American strikes were in response to an Iranian missile attack that targeted a U.S. base in Jordan, noting that the U.S. military has begun conducting airstrikes inside Iran.
Intensive Air Campaign
In the same context, The Wall Street Journal reported from American sources that the U.S. Secretary of Defense supports an intensive air campaign against Iran, while the commander of the U.S. Central Command emphasized the need to intensify airstrikes to weaken Iranian capabilities.
The newspaper added, citing American officials, that the Joint Chiefs of Staff do not see a decline in military stockpiles as a deterrent to resuming operations against Iran if necessary, confirming that the decrease in stockpiles will not hinder the continuation of military operations.
Option to Expand the War
The Wall Street Journal also revealed that the Central Command's option aims to implement a broad escalation of the war with Iran, at a time when military developments between the two sides are accelerating, amid fears of an expanding confrontation in the Middle East.
