في حادثة صادمة هزّت ولاية ميشيغان الأمريكية، تحوّل حريق اندلع داخل منزل إلى لغز جنائي معقد، بعدما كشفت فرق الإنقاذ عن جثث ثمانية أشخاص، بينهم ستة أطفال، وسط مؤشرات أولية على وقوع جريمة عنيفة سبقت اندلاع النيران.
وأعلنت السلطات الأمريكية العثور على ثمانية أشخاص متوفين داخل منزل في بلدة غراند هافن بولاية ميشيغان، بعد استجابة فرق الشرطة والإطفاء لبلاغ عن حريق اندلع في العقار قبل ظهر الجمعة.
وبحسب ما نقلته شبكة CNN، فإن فرق الطوارئ تمكنت من دخول المنزل عقب السيطرة على الحريق، لتكتشف جثث جميع الأشخاص الذين كانوا بداخله، بينهم ستة أطفال.
وقال النقيب جاكوب سباركس، خلال مؤتمر صحفي، إن التحقيقات الأولية أظهرت أن بعض الضحايا تعرضوا لإطلاق نار، إلا أن السلطات لم تحدد حتى الآن عددهم أو الأسباب الرسمية للوفاة، موضحاً أن أعمار الأطفال تراوح بين 5 و15 عاماً.
وأضاف أن مسرح الحادث يوصف بـ«المعقد»، ولا يزال يخضع لتحقيقات موسعة، مشيراً إلى أن المحققين لا يبحثون حالياً عن أي مشتبه بهم خارج المنزل.
وأوضح سباركس أن إحدى الفرضيات التي يحقق فيها فريق التحقيق تتمثل في احتمال وقوع جريمة قتل أعقبها انتحار، خصوصاً أن جميع المقيمين في المنزل لقوا حتفهم.
وفي ما يتعلق بالحريق، أكد أن ملابساته تثير كثيراً من الشبهات، وأن هناك مؤشرات أولية ترجح أنه أُشعل عمداً، فيما يشارك محققون متخصصون في حرائق شرطة ولاية ميشيغان في أعمال التحقيق لتحديد الأسباب والوقوف على تفاصيل الواقعة.
وتقع بلدة غراند هافن، التي يبلغ عدد سكانها نحو 18 ألف نسمة، على الساحل الشرقي لبحيرة ميشيغان، على بعد نحو 40 كيلومتراً غرب مدينة غراند رابيدز.
In a shocking incident that rocked the state of Michigan, a fire that broke out inside a home has turned into a complex criminal mystery, after rescue teams discovered the bodies of eight people, including six children, amid initial indications of a violent crime that preceded the outbreak of the flames.
U.S. authorities announced the discovery of eight deceased individuals inside a home in Grand Haven, Michigan, after police and fire teams responded to a report of a fire that broke out at the property on Friday morning.
According to CNN, emergency teams were able to enter the home after controlling the fire, only to find the bodies of all the individuals inside, including six children.
Captain Jacob Sparks stated during a press conference that preliminary investigations revealed that some of the victims had suffered gunshot wounds; however, authorities have not yet determined the number of victims or the official causes of death, noting that the ages of the children ranged from 5 to 15 years.
He added that the crime scene is described as "complex," and is still undergoing extensive investigations, indicating that investigators are not currently searching for any suspects outside the home.
Sparks explained that one of the hypotheses being investigated by the team is the possibility of a murder followed by suicide, especially since all the residents of the home have died.
Regarding the fire, he confirmed that its circumstances raise many suspicions, and there are initial indicators suggesting that it was deliberately set, while specialized fire investigators from the Michigan State Police are participating in the investigation to determine the causes and details of the incident.
Grand Haven, with a population of about 18,000, is located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, approximately 40 kilometers west of Grand Rapids.
