أثارت أنباء متداولة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في مصر بشأن سرقة سيارة قيل إنها كانت مملوكة للرئيس المصري الأسبق الراحل جمال عبدالناصر، ومحاولة تفكيكها وبيعها كخردة، جدلًا واسعًا خلال الساعات الماضية، قبل أن تكشف وزارة الداخلية تفاصيل الواقعة.
وأعلنت الوزارة، في بيان نشرته عبر صفحتها الرسمية على موقع «فيسبوك»، ضبط أحد الأشخاص على خلفية واقعة محاولة سرقة سيارة قديمة تعود لأحد رؤساء الجمهورية السابقين، ومحاولة تقطيعها تمهيدًا للتخلص منها وبيعها.
وأوضحت الداخلية أن الواقعة بدأت ببلاغ تلقاه قسم شرطة العطارين في محافظة الإسكندرية يوم 19 يوليو الجاري، أفاد فيه أحد السكان بضبط الأهالي شخصًا أثناء دخوله إلى مخزن مملوك لوالده، ومحاولته سرقة سيارتين من السيارات القديمة والنادرة، من بينهما السيارة التي أثارت الجدل.
وأضافت أن مالك المخزن كان قد اشترى السيارة عبر مزاد علني عام 1981، قبل أن يقوم بتسليم لوحاتها المعدنية إلى إدارة المرور عام 1995، وإبقائها داخل المخزن منذ ذلك الوقت.
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أن المتهم حاول تقطيع أجزاء من السيارة باستخدام أدوات كهربائية ومعدات لقص المعادن، بهدف بيعها لتجار الخردة، موضحة أنه جرى ضبط الأدوات المستخدمة واتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية بحقه، فيما قررت النيابة العامة حبسه على ذمة التحقيقات.
وتعود السيارة محل الواقعة، بحسب تقارير إعلامية، إلى طراز كاديلاك موديل 1961، وهي من السيارات النادرة، الأمر الذي زاد من الاهتمام بالقضية بعد انتشار معلومات تربطها بالرئيس الراحل جمال عبدالناصر.
وأكدت الجهات الرسمية أن التحقيقات كشفت تفاصيل الواقعة، دون تأكيد رسمي بأن السيارة كانت مملوكة للرئيس المصري الأسبق، رغم ارتباط اسمها به خلال تداول القصة على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
News circulating on social media in Egypt about the theft of a car said to have belonged to the late former Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the attempt to dismantle it and sell it as scrap, has sparked widespread controversy in recent hours, before the Ministry of Interior revealed the details of the incident.
The ministry announced, in a statement published on its official Facebook page, the arrest of an individual in connection with the attempted theft of an old car belonging to one of the former presidents, and the attempt to cut it up in preparation for disposing of it and selling it.
The Interior Ministry clarified that the incident began with a report received by the Al-Attarine police station in Alexandria on July 19, in which a resident informed that locals had apprehended a person while he was entering a warehouse owned by his father, attempting to steal two old and rare cars, including the car that sparked the controversy.
It added that the owner of the warehouse had purchased the car at a public auction in 1981, before handing over its license plates to the traffic department in 1995, and keeping it inside the warehouse since that time.
The ministry indicated that the accused attempted to cut parts of the car using electric tools and metal cutting equipment, with the aim of selling them to scrap dealers, explaining that the tools used were seized and legal actions were taken against him, while the public prosecution decided to detain him pending investigations.
According to media reports, the car in question is a 1961 Cadillac, which is one of the rare cars, a fact that increased interest in the case after information linking it to the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser spread.
Official sources confirmed that the investigations revealed details of the incident, without an official confirmation that the car belonged to the former Egyptian president, despite its name being associated with him during the story's circulation on social media platforms.
