لقي 15 سائحا هنديا على الأقل مقتلهم، (السبت)، إثر غرق قارب سياحي قبالة سواحل جزيرة فو كوك جنوبي فيتنام، في حادث مأساوي وقع أثناء رحلة بحرية تقل عشرات الركاب. وتمكنت فرق الإنقاذ من انتشال عدد من الناجين. وأعلنت السلطات الفيتنامية أن القارب كان على متنه 36 شخصا، بينهم 32 سائحا هنديا وأربعة من أفراد الطاقم، عندما غرق خلال رحلته من جزيرة هون ماي روت إلى ميناء آن ثوي. وأوضحت السلطات أن الحادث أسفر عن مقتل 15 شخصا على الأقل، فيما نجا 21 آخرون. وبدأت الجهات المختصة تحقيقاتها للوقوف على أسباب الحادث والملابسات التي أدت إلى غرق القارب.
من جانبها، وصفت السفارة الهندية في فيتنام الحادث بأنه «مأساوي»، مؤكدة أنها تتابع التطورات بالتنسيق مع السلطات الفيتنامية، وأنشأت مراكز للاستجابة للطوارئ في مدينة هو تشي منه والعاصمة هانوي لتقديم الدعم والمساعدة لأسر الضحايا والناجين، وتسهيل الإجراءات اللازمة. ولم تكشف السلطات الفيتنامية حتى الآن عن السبب المباشر لغرق القارب، فيما تستمر عمليات الفحص الفني وجمع الإفادات لتحديد ما إذا كانت الأحوال الجوية أو عطل فني أو عوامل أخرى وراء وقوع الحادث. وتعد جزيرة فو كوك، الواقعة في خليج تايلند جنوب فيتنام، واحدة من أبرز الوجهات السياحية في جنوب شرق آسيا، إذ تستقطب سنويا ملايين الزوار بفضل شواطئها الاستوائية ورحلاتها البحرية إلى الجزر الصغيرة المحيطة بها. ورغم الشعبية الكبيرة للرحلات البحرية في المنطقة، شهدت فيتنام خلال السنوات الماضية عددا من حوادث غرق القوارب، خاصة خلال مواسم الأمطار والرياح الموسمية، ما دفع السلطات إلى تشديد إجراءات السلامة البحرية والرقابة على القوارب السياحية. ويعيد هذا الحادث تسليط الضوء على أهمية الالتزام بمعايير السلامة في الرحلات البحرية، مع تزايد أعداد السياح الأجانب الوافدين إلى فيتنام، التي تعتمد بصورة متزايدة على قطاع السياحة كأحد محركات اقتصادها.

At least 15 Indian tourists were killed on Saturday after a tourist boat sank off the coast of Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam, in a tragic incident that occurred during a cruise carrying dozens of passengers. Rescue teams managed to retrieve a number of survivors. Vietnamese authorities announced that the boat was carrying 36 people, including 32 Indian tourists and four crew members, when it sank during its journey from Hon May Rot Island to An Thoi Port. Authorities clarified that the incident resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people, while 21 others survived. Relevant authorities have begun their investigations to determine the causes of the incident and the circumstances that led to the sinking of the boat.
For its part, the Indian embassy in Vietnam described the incident as "tragic," confirming that it is monitoring developments in coordination with Vietnamese authorities. Vietnamese authorities have not yet disclosed the direct cause of the boat's sinking, while technical inspections and witness statements continue to determine whether weather conditions, a technical malfunction, or other factors were behind the incident. Phu Quoc Island, located in the Gulf of Thailand in southern Vietnam, is one of the prominent tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, attracting millions of visitors annually due to its tropical beaches and boat trips to the surrounding small islands. Despite the great popularity of boat trips in the region, Vietnam has witnessed several boat sinking incidents in recent years, especially during the rainy seasons and monsoon winds, prompting authorities to tighten maritime safety measures and monitoring of tourist boats.
