وبحسب وسائل إعلام محلية، كان الرجل يقف في شرفة الطابق الأول عندما لمح بائع الآيس كريم، فقرر مناداته وشراء قطعة دون أن ينزل إلى الشارع. وخلال محاولة البائع تسليمه الآيس كريم، انحنى الرجل بشكل كبير من حافة الشرفة لالتقاطها، قبل أن يفقد توازنه ويسقط أرضًا أمام أنظار المارة.
ورصدت كاميرات المراقبة لحظة السقوط، ما أثار حالة من الذعر بين سكان المنطقة، فيما سارع أفراد من أسرته وعدد من الجيران إلى إسعافه قبل نقله إلى المستشفى.
وأكدت الشرطة أن الرجل يتلقى العلاج وحالته الصحية مستقرة، مشيرة إلى أن الحادثة لا تحمل أي شبهة جنائية، وإنما وقعت نتيجة فقدان التوازن.
