أسفرت حادثة إطلاق نار داخل مدرسة ثانوية بمدينة تاكلوبان الفلبينية عن مقتل ثلاثة أشخاص وإصابة خمسة آخرين، ما دفع الرئيس فرديناند ماركوس الابن إلى إصدار أوامر بفتح تحقيق عاجل وتشديد الإجراءات الأمنية في المدارس والمؤسسات التعليمية بمختلف أنحاء البلاد.
وبحسب بيان رسمي صدر اليوم (الإثنين) أمر الرئيس الفلبيني فرديناند ماركوس الابن، بفتح تحقيق شامل في حادثة إطلاق نار وقع داخل إحدى المدارس بمدينة تاكلوبان، وأسفر عن مقتل ثلاثة أشخاص وإصابة خمسة آخرين.
وقال مكتب الرئيس في بيانه، إن ماركوس أعرب عن حزنه العميق إزاء الحادثة، موجهاً الجهات المختصة بإجراء تحقيق دقيق لكشف ملابساته، كما أصدر تعليمات بتعزيز إجراءات السلامة والأمن في جميع المناطق والمكاتب والمنشآت، ولا سيما المؤسسات التعليمية.
وأعلنت الشرطة الفلبينية إلقاء القبض على مشتبهين اثنين على خلفية الهجوم الذي وقع داخل مدرسة "سان خوسيه الوطنية الثانوية" بمدينة تاكلوبان الواقعة في جزيرة ليتي، على بعد نحو 580 كيلومتراً جنوب شرقي العاصمة مانيلا.
ووفقاً لشرطة مدينة تاكلوبان، وقع إطلاق النار قرابة الساعة التاسعة صباحاً بالتوقيت المحلي داخل المدرسة الواقعة في منطقة بارانغاي سان خوسيه، فيما لا تزال التحقيقات جارية لتحديد الدوافع والظروف المحيطة بالحادث.
وقال رئيس شرطة تاكلوبان، نويلتو جيتيغان، إن المشتبه بهما استخدما مسدسين من عيار 38 و9 ملم خلال تنفيذ الهجوم.
وأوضح أن أحد المشتبه بهما، وهو قاصر وطالب في الصف التاسع، أُلقي القبض عليه بعد وقت قصير من وقوع الحادث، بينما سلّم المشتبه به الثاني نفسه للسلطات لاحقاً.
وأكدت الشرطة نقل المصابين إلى مرافق طبية قريبة لتلقي العلاج، كما تم نشر قوات إضافية في محيط المدرسة لضمان سلامة الطلاب والعاملين وأولياء الأمور وسكان المنطقة المجاورة.
ودعت السلطات المواطنين إلى عدم تداول معلومات غير مؤكدة بشأن الحادثة، وحثتهم على التعاون مع جهات التحقيق.
من جانبها، أعربت وزارة التعليم الفلبينية عن قلقها البالغ، ووصفت الواقعة بأنها "حالة تستدعي أعلى درجات التأهب"، مؤكدة إدانتها للعنف وتقديم التعازي لأسر الضحايا.
ويُعد هذا النوع من الحوادث نادراً نسبياً في الفلبين، حيث لا تشهد البلاد عمليات إطلاق نار داخل المدارس إلا على فترات متباعدة.
وكانت الفلبين قد شهدت في يوليو 2022 حادثاً مشابهاً عندما أطلق مسلح النار خلال حفل تخرج بكلية الحقوق التابعة لجامعة أتينيو دي مانيلا في مدينة كويزون، ما أسفر عن مقتل ثلاثة أشخاص، بينهم رئيسة بلدية مدينة لاميتان السابقة روز فوريغاي.

According to an official statement released today (Monday), Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered a comprehensive investigation into the shooting incident that occurred inside one of the schools in Tacloban, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to five others.
The president's office stated in its announcement that Marcos expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, directing the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding it. He also issued instructions to enhance safety and security measures in all areas, offices, and facilities, particularly educational institutions.
The Philippine police announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the attack that took place inside "San Jose National High School" in Tacloban City, located on Leyte Island, about 580 kilometers southeast of the capital, Manila.
According to Tacloban City police, the shooting occurred around 9 a.m. local time inside the school located in the Barangay San Jose area, while investigations are still ongoing to determine the motives and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Tacloban police chief, Noeito Jitigan, stated that the suspects used .38 and 9mm caliber handguns during the attack.
He explained that one of the suspects, a minor and a ninth-grade student, was arrested shortly after the incident, while the second suspect later surrendered to the authorities.
The police confirmed that the injured were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment, and additional forces were deployed around the school to ensure the safety of students, staff, parents, and residents of the surrounding area.
Authorities urged citizens not to circulate unverified information regarding the incident and encouraged them to cooperate with the investigation authorities.
For its part, the Philippine Department of Education expressed its deep concern, describing the incident as "a situation that calls for the highest level of alert," reaffirming its condemnation of violence and offering condolences to the victims' families.
This type of incident is relatively rare in the Philippines, where school shootings occur only sporadically.
In July 2022, the Philippines witnessed a similar incident when a gunman opened fire during a graduation ceremony at the law school of Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, resulting in the deaths of three people, including the former mayor of Lamitan City, Rose Furigay.
