توفي سائح ألماني يبلغ من العمر 57 عاماً في مدينة الغردقة في مصر، بعد أن لدغته أفعى كوبرا سامة خلال عرض ترفيهي لترويض الثعابين أمام الجمهور، في واقعة صادمة هزت الوسط السياحي.
وقالت الشرطة البافارية، في بيان رسمي نشرته صحيفة «الجارديان»، إن الضحية كان يقضي عطلة عائلية مع أسرته في أحد المنتجعات السياحية بالغردقة مطلع شهر أبريل الجاري، وأثناء حضوره عرضاً لـ«حاوي ثعابين»، قام مقدم العرض بوضع الثعابين حول أعناق بعض الحاضرين، ثم سمح لإحدى الأفاعي الكوبرا بالانزلاق داخل سروال السائح الألماني، لتلدغه بشكل مفاجئ في ساقه.
وأضافت الشرطة أن الضحية ظهرت عليه علامات تسمم حادة وسريعة، ما استدعى تدخلاً طبياً فورياً لإنعاشه في موقع الحادثة، قبل نقله على وجه السرعة إلى المستشفى، ورغم الجهود الطبية المبذولة، فارق السائح الحياة متأثراً بسم الأفعى.
من جهتها، باشرت الشرطة والنيابة العامة في ألمانيا تحقيقاً رسمياً في ملابسات الوفاة، في انتظار نتائج التحاليل المخبرية النهائية للسموم، إذ يُتوقع أن يشمل التحقيق الإجراءات الأمنية والسلامة المتبعة في مثل هذه العروض الترفيهية داخل المنتجعات السياحية المصرية.
وتُعد عروض ترويض الثعابين من الفعاليات الترفيهية الشائعة في المناطق السياحية المصرية، خصوصاً على البحر الأحمر، إلا أنها تثير جدلاً متكرراً حول مدى الالتزام بمعايير السلامة والحماية من الحوادث غير المتوقعة، خصوصاً عند التعامل مع أفاعٍ سامة مثل الكوبرا.
وشددت منظمات السياحة الدولية على أهمية تطبيق إجراءات وقائية صارمة أثناء مثل هذه العروض، لضمان سلامة السياح والمشاركين، وتجنب تكرار مثل هذه الحوادث المأساوية.
A 57-year-old German tourist died in the city of Hurghada, Egypt, after being bitten by a venomous cobra during a snake charming show in front of an audience, in a shocking incident that has shaken the tourism community.
The Bavarian police stated in an official statement published by the "Guardian" newspaper that the victim was on a family vacation with his relatives at a resort in Hurghada at the beginning of April. While attending a "snake charmer" show, the presenter placed snakes around the necks of some attendees, then allowed one of the cobras to slide into the German tourist's pants, biting him unexpectedly on the leg.
The police added that the victim showed signs of acute and rapid poisoning, which necessitated immediate medical intervention to revive him at the scene of the incident, before he was rushed to the hospital. Despite the medical efforts made, the tourist passed away due to the snake's venom.
For its part, the police and the public prosecutor in Germany have initiated an official investigation into the circumstances of the death, awaiting the final results of toxicology tests, as the investigation is expected to include the security and safety measures followed in such entertainment shows at Egyptian tourist resorts.
Snake charming shows are considered common entertainment activities in Egyptian tourist areas, especially along the Red Sea, but they frequently raise ongoing debates about the adherence to safety standards and protection from unexpected accidents, particularly when dealing with venomous snakes like cobras.
International tourism organizations emphasized the importance of implementing strict preventive measures during such shows to ensure the safety of tourists and participants and to avoid the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
