في واقعة مروعة أثارت صدمة واسعة في المجتمع الكويتي، أسدلت محكمة الاستئناف الستار على واحدة من أكثر القضايا الجنائية تعقيداً، بتأييدها حكماً يقضي بحبس مواطن كويتي 14 عاماً بتهمة قتل عاملة منزلية آسيوية، ودفنها في حديقة منزله بمنطقة سعد العبدالله.
بدأت خيوط الجريمة ببلاغ روتيني عن اختفاء عاملة منزلية دون أي أثر. ومع بدء الجهات الأمنية في تتبع مسار الاختفاء، ظهرت تناقضات قادت التحقيقات من مجرد «غياب عادي» إلى «شبهة جنائية». ومع تكثيف التحريات، سقط القناع عن القاتل الذي أقرَّ في مواجهة أمنية بارتكابه للجريمة.
وأظهرت أوراق القضية أن العاملة تعرضت للاعتداء المفضي إلى الموت، ثم قام الجاني بنقل جثمانها ودفنه داخل حديقة منزله، في محاولة يائسة لطمس معالم جريمته. لكن المفاجأة التي صدمت الرأي العام لم تكن في الجريمة فحسب، بل في «شبكة التستر» التي أحاطت بها.
«عائلة» في قفص الاتهام
لم تقتصر المحاسبة على القاتل وحده، فقد أدان القضاء الكويتي أفراداً من عائلته شاركوا في طمس الأدلة وإخفاء الجثة، وصدرت بحقهم أحكام بالحبس لمدة سنة لكل من:

In a horrific incident that shocked the Kuwaiti community, the Court of Appeals has closed the curtain on one of the most complex criminal cases by upholding a ruling that sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to 14 years in prison for the murder of an Asian domestic worker, whom he buried in the garden of his home in the Saad Al-Abdullah area.
The threads of the crime began with a routine report about the disappearance of a domestic worker without any trace. As the security authorities started to track the path of the disappearance, contradictions emerged that led the investigations from mere "ordinary absence" to "criminal suspicion." With intensified investigations, the mask fell off the killer, who confessed during an interrogation to committing the crime.
The case documents showed that the worker was subjected to fatal assault, after which the perpetrator transported her body and buried it in the garden of his home, in a desperate attempt to conceal the evidence of his crime. However, the shocking surprise that stunned public opinion was not only the crime itself but also the "cover-up network" that surrounded it.
"Family" in the Dock
The accountability did not stop with the killer alone; the Kuwaiti judiciary convicted several members of his family who participated in concealing evidence and hiding the body, and sentences of one year in prison were issued against each of the following:
- His father
- His brother
- His wife
The Court of Appeals upheld the sentences issued against all the defendants, thus closing the case file judicially. Despite the conclusion of the proceedings, the story of the "Saad Al-Abdullah worker" remains present in minds as a model of a crime that began with a simple report of disappearance and ended with the revelation of a horrifying truth that was literally buried under the soil of a home garden.
