حذّر باحثون في الأمن السيبراني، وفق ما نشرته مجلة Wired، من أداة اختراق متطورة تُعرف باسم «DarkSword»، قادرة على استهداف مئات الملايين من هواتف آيفون حول العالم.
وتعتمد الأداة على استغلال ثغرات في نظام iOS، حيث يمكنها اختراق الجهاز بمجرد زيارة موقع إلكتروني مصاب، دون الحاجة إلى تحميل ملفات أو التفاعل مع روابط مشبوهة، ما يجعلها أكثر خطورة وانتشارًا.
وبحسب التقرير، فإن ما بين 220 إلى 270 مليون جهاز تعمل بإصدارات عرضة لهذه الهجمات، خصوصًا لدى المستخدمين الذين لم يحدثوا أنظمتهم أخيرًا.
وتتيح الأداة للقراصنة الوصول إلى بيانات حساسة تشمل كلمات المرور، والصور، والرسائل في تطبيقات مثل واتساب وتليغرام وiMessage، إضافة إلى بيانات التصفح والصحة الرقمية.
ويحذر مختصون من أن سهولة نسخ الشفرة البرمجية للأداة وانتشارها في السوق السوداء يعزز احتمالات استخدامها على نطاق واسع، ما يفرض ضرورة تحديث الأجهزة وتوخي الحذر عند تصفح المواقع الإلكترونية.
Cybersecurity researchers have warned, according to an article published by Wired, about an advanced hacking tool known as "DarkSword," capable of targeting hundreds of millions of iPhones worldwide.
The tool exploits vulnerabilities in the iOS system, allowing it to compromise the device simply by visiting an infected website, without the need to download files or interact with suspicious links, making it more dangerous and widespread.
According to the report, between 220 to 270 million devices are running versions vulnerable to these attacks, especially among users who have not updated their systems recently.
The tool enables hackers to access sensitive data including passwords, photos, and messages in applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage, as well as browsing data and digital health information.
Experts warn that the ease of copying the tool's code and its spread in the black market increases the likelihood of widespread use, highlighting the necessity of updating devices and exercising caution when browsing websites.
