تسببت تصريحات السيدة الأمريكية الأولى ميلانيا ترمب في موجة غضب وانتقادات واسعة على الإنترنت، بعدما أشادت بزوجها الرئيس دونالد ترمب وبدعواته للنساء بأن يعشن «بحرية ودون خوف».
جاء الحديث خلال مقابلة مع قناة «فوكس بيزنس»، حيث تناولت ميلانيا الانقسامات السياسية في أمريكا، مؤكدة أنها تقدم لزوجها نصائح لمحاولة توحيد البلاد رغم المعارضة الشديدة التي يواجهها.
وقالت ميلانيا في المقابلة: «أعتقد أنه يقوم بعمل رائع. ويريد أن يُتيح للناس العيش بحرية، دون خوف، حتى يشعروا بالأمان أثناء السير في الشوارع، دون التعرض للمضايقة أو القتل أو الاغتصاب».
لكن تصريحاتها لم تمر مرور الكرام، إذ انتشرت على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي بشكل واسع، مع تعليقات ساخرة وغاضبة، معتبرين أن الحديث عن حرية النساء غير منطقي في ظل مزاعم الاعتداء الجنسي الموجهة ضد ترمب.
وعلق أحد المستخدمين: «زوجها اتهمته 26 امرأة بالتحرش الجنسي؟»، بينما كتب آخر: «رجل مدان بالاعتداء الجنسي يتحدث عن السلامة والحرية؟ سخرية».
ويشير التاريخ القضائي إلى أن عشرات النساء اتهمن ترمب بسلوك جنسي غير لائق منذ سبعينيات القرن الماضي، وأدين في محكمة مدنية بتهمة الاعتداء الجنسي، مما زاد الجدل حول تصريحات ميلانيا ترمب.

In the interview, Melania said: "I think he is doing a great job. He wants to allow people to live freely, without fear, so they feel safe walking down the streets, without being harassed or killed or raped."
However, her statements did not go unnoticed, as they spread widely on social media, accompanied by sarcastic and angry comments, with many considering the discussion of women's freedom to be illogical in light of the sexual assault allegations against Trump.
One user commented: "Her husband has been accused of sexual harassment by 26 women?" while another wrote: "A man convicted of sexual assault talks about safety and freedom? Ridiculous."
Court records indicate that dozens of women have accused Trump of inappropriate sexual behavior since the 1970s, and he was found liable in a civil court for sexual assault, which has intensified the controversy surrounding Melania Trump's statements.
