أعلنت الشرطة السويسرية ارتفاع أعداد المتوفين في الانفجار والحريق المروع، الذي اندلع في منتجع التزلج الفاخر كران-مونتانا في قلب جبال الألب السويسرية لنحو40 شخصاً حسب التقديرات الأولية، وإصابة أكثر من 100 آخرين بجروح متفاوتة الخطورة.
مأساة دامية
وتحولت احتفالات رأس السنة الجديدة في منتجع التزلج الفاخر كران-مونتانا في قلب جبال الألب السويسرية إلى مأساة دامية، بعد أن شهدت «حانة لو كونستليشن» انفجاراً هائلاً تلاه اندلاع حريق في الساعات الأولى من العام الجديد، في واحد من أكثر الحوادث دموية التي شهدتها سويسرا في مناسبة احتفالية.
وقع الانفجار في الـ01:30 صباحاً بالتوقيت المحلي، داخل الحانة الشهيرة التي كانت مكتظة بالزوار معظمهم سياح ومحتفلون محليون، يحتفلون بانتهاء 2025 وبداية 2026، وسرعان ما تحول الانفجار إلى حريق عنيف اجتاح المكان، ما تسبب في انهيار أجزاء من السقف والجدران، وتصاعد أعمدة الدخان الكثيف فوق المنتجع الجبلي.
ورغم وصول فرق الإطفاء والإنقاذ والإسعاف إلى الموقع فوراً، إلا أن شدة الحريق والأضرار الهيكلية صعبت من عمليات الإنقاذ للغاية.
حظر طيران
وأغلقت السلطات المنطقة بالكامل، وفرضت منطقة حظر طيران فوق كران-مونتانا لتسهيل عمليات الإنقاذ والتحقيق، وأكدت شرطة كانتون فاليه أن الحادثة تُعامل حالياً على أنها حادثة عرضية وليست عملاً إرهابياً، مع استمرار التحقيقات لتحديد السبب الدقيق، وسط تكهنات أولية تشير إلى احتمال ارتباطها بألعاب نارية أُطلقت خلال حفل موسيقي، أو تسرب غاز، أو خلل فني.
وعقدت الشرطة مؤتمراً صحفياً صباح اليوم (الخميس)؛ لتقديم أحدث التفاصيل، فيما أعلن رئيس الاتحاد السويسري تأجيل خطابه السنوي بمناسبة العام الجديد حداداً على الضحايا.
وأعرب مسؤولون سويسريون عن حزنهم العميق، واصفين الحادثة بأنها «لحظة حزن تؤثر على سويسرا بأكملها وعلى العالم»، خصوصاً أن الضحايا ينتمون إلى جنسيات متعددة.
وأصدرت السفارة البريطانية بياناً أكدت فيه أن مواطنين بريطانيين من المحتمل أن يكونوا بين المتضررين، وفتحت خطوط تواصل مع العائلات. كما أُنشئ خط ساخن لأهالي الضحايا والمفقودين.
وتقع كران-مونتانا في كانتون فاليه جنوب غرب سويسرا، على ارتفاع يزيد على 1,500 متر فوق سطح البحر، وعلى بعد نحو 40 كيلومتراً شمال جبل ماترهورن الشهير، ونحو ساعتين بالسيارة من العاصمة برن.
ويُعد المنتجع من أبرز وجهات التزلج الفاخرة في العالم، ويتميز بمنحدرات تزلج تصل إلى 140 كيلومتراً، ويجذب سنوياً آلاف السياح من أوروبا وبريطانيا والشرق الأوسط وآسيا، خصوصاً خلال موسم الشتاء وعطلات نهاية العام، كما يستضيف المنتجع فعاليات رياضية دولية، منها سباقات كأس العالم للتزلج السريع المقرر إقامتها نهاية يناير 2026.

Bloody Tragedy
The New Year's celebrations at the luxurious ski resort of Crans-Montana in the heart of the Swiss Alps turned into a bloody tragedy after the "Le Constellation" bar witnessed a massive explosion followed by a fire in the early hours of the new year, in one of the deadliest incidents Switzerland has experienced during a festive occasion.
The explosion occurred at 1:30 AM local time inside the famous bar, which was crowded with visitors, mostly tourists and local revelers, celebrating the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. The explosion quickly turned into a violent fire that engulfed the place, causing parts of the ceiling and walls to collapse, and thick columns of smoke to rise above the mountain resort.
Despite the immediate arrival of firefighting, rescue, and ambulance teams to the site, the intensity of the fire and structural damage made rescue operations extremely difficult.
No-Fly Zone
The authorities completely closed the area and imposed a no-fly zone over Crans-Montana to facilitate rescue and investigation operations. The Valais canton police confirmed that the incident is currently being treated as an accidental occurrence and not a terrorist act, while investigations continue to determine the exact cause, with initial speculations suggesting a possible connection to fireworks launched during a musical event, a gas leak, or a technical malfunction.
The police held a press conference this morning (Thursday) to provide the latest details, while the President of the Swiss Federation announced the postponement of his annual New Year's speech in mourning for the victims.
Swiss officials expressed their deep sorrow, describing the incident as "a moment of grief affecting all of Switzerland and the world," especially since the victims belong to multiple nationalities.
The British embassy issued a statement confirming that British citizens are likely among the affected, and communication lines have been opened with the families. A hotline has also been established for the families of the victims and the missing.
Crans-Montana is located in the Valais canton in southwestern Switzerland, at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level, about 40 kilometers north of the famous Matterhorn mountain, and approximately a two-hour drive from the capital, Bern.
The resort is considered one of the premier luxury ski destinations in the world, featuring ski slopes that extend up to 140 kilometers, attracting thousands of tourists annually from Europe, Britain, the Middle East, and Asia, especially during the winter season and year-end holidays. The resort also hosts international sporting events, including the World Cup speed skiing races scheduled to take place at the end of January 2026.
