تحولت فرحة أعياد الميلاد إلى حالة من الصدمة والرعب في مدينة نونسبيت الهولندية، بعد أن اندفعت سيارة نحو حشد من الأشخاص كانوا ينتظرون مشاهدة عرض مركبات مزينة بالأضواء، ما أسفر عن إصابة تسعة أشخاص بينهم ثلاثة بحالات خطيرة.

وأفادت شرطة غيلدرلاند عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي بأن الحادثة أسفرت عن إصابة 9 أشخاص، ثلاثة منهم إصاباتهم خطيرة، مشيرة إلى أن الواقعة لا تبدو متعمدة حتى الآن، لكنها فتحت تحقيقًا لمعرفة الملابسات.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن السائقة، امرأة تبلغ من العمر 56 عامًا من نونسبيت، أصيبت بجروح طفيفة وتم توقيفها وفق الإجراءات المعتادة في حوادث المرور الخطيرة، دون تقديم مزيد من التفاصيل.
من جهتها، أعلنت بلدية إلبورغ المجاورة أن العرض توقف فور وقوع الحادثة، فيما صرح رئيس البلدية يان ناثان روزندال: «ما كان ينبغي أن يكون لحظة تضامن انتهى بقلق وحزن كبيرين».
